Whaaaaaaaa?! Where's he going? Why?!?!?!

He"s doing Ultimate Spider-Man so it can double-ship in December. He's doing issue six and I assume more.

I have zero problems with this.

Speaking of great art how do you guys feel about a book having a rotating pair of artists working on the book, in tandem, i.e. 'Tec with Jock and Francavilla, or (I'm not reading now but if the talk keeps up I very soon might switch over to) Daredevil with Rivera and Martin? At least as far as the 'Tec run went, I felt that the transition from one issue to another did not suffer at all, in part due to the interweaving of the independent story lines, and in part due to the similar yet distinct styles of the artists. I also thought that Snyder did a great job of adjusting his writing to the artists strengths. I can't give you concrete examples at the moment, as I don't have those issues with me, but I remember thinking, both during the Gordon back-up story and the normal run post 'Holding the Line', that it felt like I was getting something new and exciting all the time, even while there was a looming thread through it all.

Do you think this is something that will continue as a trend for the big two, especially considering the DC 'We Ship on Time, All the Time' idea and Marvel's 'Let's Get as Many Good Titles Out as Often as we Can' strategy? Also considering how good 'Tec was and (apparently) DD is.

EDIT: I should say, that Jock and Francavilla's styles aren't 'similar' but that they work well together, unlike attempting an interwoven Mahnke/Cooke story (though that would be interesting...). Also another time this worked was the JSA Eaglesham/Ross/Ordway run (although not the best JSA story every the art really worked that whole time).

1) I do think it'l continue as a viable option, though it might not be used that much
2)OH MY GOODNESS YOU REALLY SHOULD BE READING DAREDEVIL.

This week's Pull-List!

All Star Western #1 - This one's a "maybe," depending on how my Twitter feed reacts to it. I like the idea of a Western set in the past of the DCU, and I've heard good talk about Palmiotti's Jonah Hex, so maybe this'll work out.
Amazing Spider-Man #670 - "Spider Island" continues. I like the goofy soapiness of this, with the citizens of New York being granted spider-powers thanks to genetically-enhanced bedbugs, and Ramos' art fits the tone perfectly.
Dungeons And Dragons #11 - I love this comic. It's fun, funny, exciting and accessible. You should try it out like for reals.
FF #9 - DOOOOOM!
Herc #8 - This is as close to a Batman: The Brave & The Bold-version Aquaman book as we're going to get, I guess. I just wish the art was better here, because, maaaaan.
Justice League Dark #1 - Crossing my fingers for this one and hoping it's the good Peter Milligan writing this.
Kamandi Omnibus HC, Vol. 01: Last Boy On Earth - Heck yes I will be buying this.
Secret Avengers #17 - I really wish Warren Ellis was writing this title forever because if last issue's any indication, he's approaching this as a slightly-more-serious version of Nextwave. Which is a very, very good thing.
Spider-Island: Deadly Hands Of Kung Fu #2 (of 3) - The first issue was a little too po-faced and dull, but I'll take Shang Chi anywhere I can get him.
Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #2 - Loved the first issue. Pretty sure this title will continue to impress.
Ultimate Comics Ultimates #2 - I had a lot of the same problems with the first issue that everybody else did: I haven't read an Ultimates comic since the first Millar series and therefore had no idea what was going on, but I trust Hickman enough to play along for a few more issues at the least.
Venom #7 - I'm liking-not-loving this book, but whenever Tom Fowler's on art chores, the scales tip towards "love."
Marvel:
Venom
Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz

DC:
AmVamp
Justice League Dark
Flash
I, Vampire
All-Star Western

This is the first week where non of the relaunch books are surefire for me. But it looks to be very good, art-wise at least.
All-Star Western
Flash
Iron Man 2.0
The latest Iron Man 2.0 reaffirmed my formerly flagging faith in Nick Spencer.
My list for this week. Still working on what I am going to end up reading for longer than two issues

Action Comics #2
Animal Man #2
Batwing #2
Detective Comics #2 (out of morbid curiosity)
Huntress #1
JLI #2
Men of War #2
Penguin: Pain and Prejudice #1
Swamp Thing #2.

This Week’s Pull-List

Action Comics: Loved Action #1 and think this could be the best series spinning out of the relaunch.
Swamp Thing: The first issue had a little too much in the exposition department, but it was still pretty good and the art is to-notch.
Batwing: Surprised by how much I liked the first issue, hopefully it won’t go down the drain.
JLI: Clunky dialog from the first issue aside, this could be the most conventional of all of the superhero books out of DC. Love the cast, just needs to take the next step.
OMAC: Yes, more please.
Static: My excitement for this one is tempered by the knowledge that Rozum is off the book after the first arc.
American Vampire: Fucking finally. Looking forward to checking this out now that it’s out in paperback.

Honorable Mentions:

All-Star Superman TPB: Thinking about trading in my HC’s to have it all in one convenient volume. As nice as the Absolute edition looks, I never read the ones I have, just too damn big.
Avengers 1959: Waiting for paperback. I’ll tell you if it’s any good in two years.
There is literally nothing on my pull list this week...strange...
