I don't follow Hickman, but I've liked a fair amount of what I've read, and am really excited for Manhattan Projects, but I only have an iPhone as a digital reader and I dont know if I want to read a digital omnibus on my phone. If I could, and the reader worked like it does on my phone, read it on my computer it would be a no brainer for me. (As an aside, does anyone know why you can't read comixology on a computer, I mean, I payed for a digital file why not be able to read it at home too, on a bigger screen, even if you don't have a Kindle or iPad?)
Wait, what? I read Comixology stuff on my desktop all of the time.
Really? I was trying to read the preview today and I couldn't figure it out. So maybe I'm just being an idiot on this one...
OK, yeah. My fault.

Okay. It's official: I love The Defenders.
And now that I've said that out loud, how long until they announce its cancellation?

You just had to say it.
You couldn't just vote with your dollars and quietly enjoy it could you?
YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE SAY THAT!!!

Marvel Announces New Defenders, Secret Defenders and Hooray for Defender Day (by Grant Morrison channeling Dr Seuss)

OK, so I bought the Test Pattern A) to make up for my stupidity, B) Because I began to read the preview and, well I don't think I've read a comic that looks this different and interesting, and C) Because I am writing a paper on the use of the word 'Infinity' in which I am going through a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the use of the word in philosophical, theological, and philosophical manners throughout the collected works of a 20th Century Russian priest who was also a scientist, mathematician, and philosopher and so thought I could use a good, non-difficult, distraction.
Also, Hooray for Defender Day is something that needs to be written.

Dammit, I so want to get into that book, but I look at it and realize I'd have to drop $16 for four freaking issues and that just does not compute. I will continue to be a sad little man.

I kept saying , "Man, I love this." over and over when I read issue 4 yesterday. It's exactly the kind of Matt Fraction comic I hoped for after Iron Fist and Cassanova. For whatever that's worth.
"Everything you love dies."

Yeah, if Marvel ever does a sale on it digitally, I'm going to snap it up, but for now it's just prohibitively expensive when viewed against their competition. (And yes, I could just torrent the motherfucker but my resolution this year was to pay for what I consume so that's not an option.)

Understandable. It's worth checking out, either on digital sale or in the eventual collection. It's a big love letter to 70's Marvel/Steve Gerber, with a stealth Omega the Unknown appearance thrown in for good measure.
