i think i'm set on doing a voldemort this year. i did professor X for something earlier this year, so i'm making my way down the list of bald dudes to dress up as. when i hit captain picard i know i've reached the end.

i've enlisted the help of an ex of mine who designs underwear for a living to make the robe rather than use a crappy store-bought one, hopefully it should be interesting. i don't even know much about voldemort other than he's a bad man and he lost his nose someplace, probably in a wizard accident.

anyhoo, pictures will follow. there better be pictures of your costumes too, aye? aye.

What's everyone's favorite Halloween treat?

As explicitly Halloweeny treats go, I actually like candy corn a lot.

Also, here is a Halloween mix to enjoy while you're waiting on Dylan and I to finish PING-O-WEEN 3!

I always liked getting Butterfingers on Halloween, just because I would never eat them throughout the rest of the year, and it was a nice 'Halloween only' treat.

But all time favorites were the spiders and other such gummies that came in hard plastic with the foil back. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about here?

I would eat candy corn UNTIL I DIED. So good.

Man, I like having the candy more than eating any of it.

For me I loved walking three miles in a night with a pillowcase along with three or four friends. The best years I trick or treated I lived with the upper middle class suburban people and they gave good candy, except for the guy who snuck in condiment packets every year. By contrast when I moved to the city where the governor of Ohio and all of the rich people lived, they gave pretty shitty candy. They closed up their gates. Only like 4 houses spent a lot of money on candy but those 4 gave out Nerds Ropes (full size) and real candy bars.

Part of the reason though was we were about 15 minutes from downtown Columbus and so the inner city kids would come without costumes and ask for candy, kids got mugged for candy and it was generally a night of dickish pranks, no worse than the rich white kids would do but nonetheless.
In fact, minus the muggings, the rich white kids did worse. Before homecoming a good 300 toilet paper rolls were used to decorate the trees and houses surrounding the high school field. There was also the year that a group of drunk students tried to light the astroturf on fire but that is besides the point.

While I can't trick or treat because the town I am currently in is too small and the lack of children walking out in this area combined with a restricted daylight time, I might want to look into a costume. Something at least better than last year's Hipster Rorshach when I convinced the comic shop I'd be hired at to stay open on Halloween (a Sunday) and proceeded to not only have no customers, but I also used the time to book an Adam WarRock show.
