My friend who really likes Fables keeps on recommending that I try Unwritten. iZombie I can give a recc to though.
I think Unwritten is off the table on Thwipster now though. So we'll see. Maybe I'll just stumble into a random CBS and try something on there...

I love iZombie and think the world of Unwritten. Art's a little Vertigo-y at times on the latter*, but it's solid, writing-wise. Plus, Frankenstein pops up every now and then.

iZombie is sort of like the anti-Twilight, if that helps sell it at all. Plus, Mike Allred art with fill-ins from Gilbert Hernandez, Jay Stephens and J. Bone. You literally cannot go wrong.

*You know, serviceable and competent without ever being really great.

The former sounds good, and worth a look, maybe ill try the first volume out, or if you can suggest an issue or two. Bit of a literature nut, as Russian Lit pays for me to read comics and live, and what I've read about this has always interested me but I've never gotten into it.

In re: iZombie, I'm an Allred freak, and am sad that I haven't been following this series.

Yeah, I'd say pick up the first trade of Unwritten (though it looks like Thwipster sold out of it already) and see if it does it for you. If not, you can always recoup some of your dough reselling it on Amazon, right?
I would definitely rec The Unwritten.
Also, Thwipster has Skrull Kill Krew for 4 bucks before shipping. That's some Morrison/Yeowell shit, with just enough of other people to direct Millar's involvement towards good rather than his usual evil.
Eight of Guided By Voices best albums are $5 a piece at Amazon mp3. Recommend starting with Bee Thousand, Alien Lanes and Under The Bushes, Under The Stars. The compilation, Human Amusements at Hourly Rates is a good intro as well.
