I'm the second Steve to post in this thread.

I've been reading comics for as long as I can remember, starting off with X-Men and Transformers (and apparently the odd issue of West Coast Avengers). I still stick loyally to the X-Men despite my better instincts (which might already be noticeable) and I also have a deep seeded love for comics that will never be finished (Quantum and Woody, Steampunk, Phonogram, Wildcats 3.0).

I'll at least try anything by Morrison, Ellis, Hickman, Kieron Gillen, Mike Carey, Joe Casey, and Brian K Vaughan. Artists that I tend to enjoy are John Cassaday, Chris Bachalo, Jamie McKelvie, Kevin Maguire, Skottie Young, Frank Quitely, Gene Ha, Jae Lee, and J.H. Williams.

Otherwise, I'm currently covering music (and may be the music critic) for the Washington Times, but try to disassociate myself in most other ways from them. I've also been known to write about film and sports (mainly basketball and football, but in a pinch I can write quite well about Soccer, just don't expect me to know anyone playing).

Comics were always on my radar but when my Mom handed me a copy of G.I. Joe #1 (Treasury Edition), the hook was in. When I saw Marvel Secret Wars #4 at the drug store, I was in for life.

I'm Jon, I'm 35, and I live in Chicago with my wife, my hateful small dog, a rabbit, and a chinchilla. I used to run Hitler Getting Punched, though I kind of lost steam on that after about 450 entries.

I first got into comics because of G.I. Joe when I was a kid, then branched out into mostly Marvel and Batman until around 1993-4 when I just gave the hell up and moved on to black and white arty stuff, until a combination of reading Chris Sims and New Frontier sucked me back into the vortex.

I'm also a huge Pogo and Krazy Kat fan.

I got into comics when I was young after some kind of mailing mix-up lead to me receiving a copy of the Spider-Man Magazine for Kids. Eventually went up to the 'real deal' (...all four titles) and later expanded to some other titles (like the titles that consisted of Heroes Return).

Eventually I dropped out around 2000-ish, only to come back some years later for Civil War/The Death of Captain America, and I've been reading again ever since. My reading is primarily Marvel based (Top 5: Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers Academy, Journey into Mystery, Thunderbolts and Uncanny X-Force), though I'm certainly willing to give other things a shot.

I'm a college student (part-time; I'm not in a rush, honestly) and I work as a busboy.

As for my little corner of the internet, I work* on a blog taking the content from Marvel's Digital Comics Unlimited and spotlighting/organizing what's available.

(*It's dawned on me that due to life stuff I haven't updated in nearly a month. So that word comes lightly...time to fix that.)

I'm Alex and I live in Indiana. When I was in elementary school, my dad would buy me a comic for each spelling test I got an A on. I'm not sure which I got first, but I have some issues of Impulse, Ultimate Marvel Team Up, and the Flash arc where both Central and Keystone City were attacked by the Thinker and the Rouges. Then Wally West beat them and built a bridge.
After I stopped having spelling tests, I read all the comics available at my library. I started buying monthly comics when Secret Warriors started.
My favorite character is Etrigan.

My father got me into comics when I was pre-natal, and I haven't looked back since. I remember reading Batman comics on a giant shag carpet in front of a giant window looking out on our front lawn with my Dad and demanding he read Alfred in a proper British accent and the KG Beast по русский, probably one of my first memories and also probably the reason I'm now trying to get a Masters and PhD in Russian Lit.

I've always been and GL and Flash guy, though in my youth I was all about everything X-Men related. Morrison Animal Man, Joe Kelly Deadpool, Madman, X-Static, Phonogram, and Giffen/DeMatteis and Morrison JLA(I) are my favourite runs of all time, and I'm probably forgetting many a comic.

Kyler Rayner and Wally West are my Leaguers. This is the single greatest comic book cover of all time...



I once wrote a three part script for a Booster Gold comic just so I could read about him punching Stalin in the face, and hiding his TimeSphere in the left breast of the monument to the Workers and Peasants.

Getting a degree because of KGBeast is the best thing I have ever heard.

I only recently got into comics like 3 years ago, maybe? I started off with Deadpool stuff then I branched off into other series and companies. There's really not much to say. I'm currently attending school and going for my Bachelor's in Hospitality Management (If y'all want a discount for a hotel in the future hit me up ), so that's somethin', I guess. Um, I loves me some cartoons, comics, video games, them novels and musical theatre.

Started reading comics when I was a kid because my parents saw them as a good way to encourage us all to love reading. (It must have worked since we all still read a lot haha) So yeah British comics like the Nutty (my first comic, featuring Bananaman!), Beano and Dandy kept me going through my childhood. I then moved on to 2000AD and eventually on to American titles starting with X-men and Robin.

I used to write and draw my own comic-zines through university but haven't been able to find the time to continue them since. It's something I'm always chastising myself for and trying to get myself to commit to it. I promise I'll get back into it soon and ignore the treasures of the internet so I can focus on actually adding to it haha!

Nowadays I mostly read books based on the creators involved, especially the artists as there's only a handful of writers I'll loyally follow. I'm also more inclined to pick up trades as I haven't the space or disposable income for monthlies. I admit it's also led me to start wishing for continuity to take a back seat so I might be able to pick up a complete story or arcs by a creative team I love on a character I love. Just imagine if there was an All Star Superman for every character you love by creators you love... Bliss!

I'm a game designer currently working Gameloft Montréal on large iPhone/iPad titles. I've been doing this for about a year now and I love it. I hope to be able to create and or help shape bigger console experiences someday. I enjoy video games, comics, sporty sports and music that's not too gangsta.

I don't think there's been a time where I have not been reading comics in some shape or form. One of the cool things that being a comics fan in Quebec is that we practically get a bit of everything around the world. We're a pretty diverse market, being a mix of french, english and a lot of immigrant communities. Meaning a lot of publishing houses from North America and English and French speaking European countries bring a lot of books to our shores. The best example is that Glénat, by far the biggest comics publisher, as brought an incredible amount of french-translated manga to our shores over the years.

When I was young I read a lot of all-ages European BD like Astérix, Scrameustache, Boule & Bill, The Smurfs, Tintin and Spirou & Fantasio, who are awesome. Growing older, I discovered manga and really got into shonen like Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2. About 5 years ago, I picked up Marvel's House of M in singles and that was just the gateway to the World of American Comics. From then on, I started reading a lot of what Marvel and DC were putting out by purchasing trades. Am still not a big fan of single issue monthlies. I loved combing Wikipedia and learning how characters and shared stories in the Big Two were related. Runaways confirmed my love of a shared fictional universe. Ended up discovering Image, the indie scene and whole other worlds crafted by top creators like Jhonen Vasquez or Jamie Hewlett. Still haven't finished being amazed by how much good stuff is put out every month.

Some of my favourite superhero characters you might also be aware of are The Runaways, The Teen Titans, Blue Beetle III, Tim Drake, Iceman and Wonder Woman.

Right now, I am moving back from capes a bit and trying to discover cool books that are more noir, crime or any other genre, really. But, I'll still read anything by Brian K. Vaughan, Warren Ellis, Grant Morrisson, Greg Rucka, Kieron Gillen and many more. Anything drawn by Darwyn Cooke, Amanda Conner, Raphael Albuquerque, Ryan Ottley and I also will be present and attending.

Day-to-day to life, when my workload doesn't leave me drained, I love to blog about game design and develop smaller games. I am slowly but surely developing a comic project at the moment.
