RE: The Pull List! - jason1749 - 09-21-2011 04:43 AM ![]() This week's pull-list is pretty short, thankfully since I think next week is another biggie. Marvel does its best to try and preserve some market share by double-shipping two of their best titles this month, Hulk & Daredevil. Both are hitting on all cylinders, but sadly, this is Gabriel Hardman's last issue of Hulk. Looking forward to that Planet of the Apes series he has coming. Teen Titans: Games is a pure nostalgia buy for me. I've gone back and read some of those old Wolfman/Perez Teen Titans issues lately, and a lot of it doesn't hold up, particularly the later-era stuff, which this was started during. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll kill off Danny Chase early on in the book. Anyway, new Perez artwork is always welcome. As for the reboot titles, Snyder on Batman is as close to a sure thing as you can get with out the words "Grant" and "Morrison" being involved. Wonder Woman I'm buying because the creative team has done great things in the past and Blue Beetle I just want to succeed (though I wish they'd gotten John Rogers back). Red Hood and the Outlaws just looks stupid, hopefully it's good stupid. RE: The Pull List! - MoustachePants - 09-21-2011 05:08 AM Short week for me as well; Batman #1 Snyder and Batman, so far, have been like peanut butter and chocolate, if the chocolate began to warp your mind. Really enjoy his playing with Gotham as a character, and how Dick interacted with it. Now I hope he can do the same with Bruce. Nightwing #1 I really enjoyed Gates of Gotham, and I'm looking forward to see how much of that was Higgins. Barrows can be hit or miss, but for the oct part I'm in. Uncanny X-Men #543 Kieron Gillen. I would read him writing anything. Generation Hope #11 See Above. RE: The Pull List! - thechrishaley - 09-21-2011 05:28 AM ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Big week for me apparently.. I'm sure there's got to be some intelligent business reason for this, but I'll be damned if I can figure out what it is. RE: The Pull List! - Agent Orange - 09-22-2011 03:19 AM I would say to confront the DCnU stuff coming out every week. Marvel wants to try to have multiple heavy-hitters each week? I'm not sure, either. RE: The Pull List! - winnr - 09-22-2011 03:45 AM I think they're rotating their artists enough to allow them to ship quicker. I first noticed it with Uncanny X-Force and figured it was to finish up the Dark Angel Saga before the post-Schism thing, but then Daredevil and Hulk double-shipping doesn't fit into that logic at all, so.. I'm fairly sure it's a cynical attempt to keep their market share up while they get drubbed by DC during the re-launch. RE: The Pull List! - Name - 09-22-2011 11:11 AM Whatever man, 2 issues of Daredevil in one month. Can't argue with that. I think it has something to do with their event pacing. It's my understanding that the end of The Children's Crusade, Wanda will do something (like give all the mutants back their powers) that will spark, not so much an event, but a shift in the universe dynamic (cuz let's face it: Now there's a difference between a big event and a BIG EVENT, and that's getting confusing on its own). So, lets say that DareDevil is supposed to address that in issue 16, but Children's Crusade #7 is supposed to drop in time for Christmas - Marvel would need to push the next 12 issues out pronto in order to make sure the time lines line up for the big shift. At least that's my theory. At least, that's my theory. |
