I said this over in the DCnU thread, but seeing Paquette draw Superman's new costume in Swamp Thing killed me. I think the new costumes are pretty tacky but I can put up with them in titles like Justice League, but seeing an incredible artist like Paquette drawing that armor was so painful. How good would that scene have been with Supes in the classic costume??

I've read in a few places that a lot of people seem to think Mrs. Nyxly is either Mxyzptlk or at least 5th dimension related.

My friend that lives in Chicago, said they were filming scenes from the new movie right outside of his building. He was able to snag this shot for me before the crew yelled at him...

Calamity Jon pointed out something pretty cool I'd never noticed before: http://calamityjon.tumblr.com/post/10125232134/heres-a-mildly-interesting-note-i-came-across

Naturally, you know that the first super-feat we ever see the Man of Steel perform was to lift and smash a green sedan (on the cover of Action Comics #1, of course).

Well, in Bizarro’s first appearance - “The Battle With Bizarro” (Superboy #68, 1958) - the very first super-feat we see the newborn Bizarro perform is … to lift and smash a green sedan. Through a shop window, specifically (he repeats the stunt a few pages later).

As Jon mentions, this probably wasn't a conscious reference.

His post also reminded me how much I love the Greatest Superman Stories Ever Told book (which I got one Christmas as a kid and have read a million times). I think my favorite story there is "The Night of March 31":

So we learned that Superman (and by extension his 'family') hate green sedans. When do we get to see Jor-el and Lara taking young Kal on a vacation to some horridly scarring vacation point, possibly the green cliffs of kryptonite canyon or some such awesome nonsense, so that all the Freudian psychologists in the room can point and go,

Rumor: Henry Cavill's Too-Sexy 'Man of Steel' Suit May Have to Go

But... wow. This is rich. Bet we'll finally get the answer to the big question: Boxers or briefs?

Very unlikely to get rid of it at this stage in production but it is still a funny thought! Putting the outer-underpants back on because people keep talking about Superman's superpenis. It gives me giggles!

RE: Superman. - Flash Fact - 09-16-2011 03:54 AM

Maybe there will be a big dramatic scene where Superman finally finds his place in the world... Inside a pair of red outer-underpants. Honsetly, that sounds better to me than the mopey "Superman on a quest of self-discovery" movie we're going to get.

RE: Superman. - Josh - 09-16-2011 04:24 AM

outer underpants mean nothing. they're trunks. brave, stoic trunks.
