I'm more interested in getting a clear picture of Ursa there in the background. Looks like Non is going to be a mo-cap giant.

If I'm not mistaken, the lady in the background is Faora, not Ursa.

With everyone here being big Superman fans, I'm wondering what people's opinions are on Krypton and Jor-El/Lara? I'm of the opinion that once baby Kal is in that rocket, they stop being too relevant, whereas John and Martha are super important. The fact that Action Comics is apparently going to have flashbacks to Krypton, but feature a Superman without any parents back home at Smallville seems to me, at least, like a step in the wrong direction.

I'm in the tank for Morrison on Superman so I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt with what he does with the character.

I feel like the Kents are more important than Jor-El and Lara, but they have their own role to play in turning Clark into who he is. Except on Smallville, where Jor-El is basically a cross between Invincible's dad and Zordon.

For a long time Jor-El and Lara were more important, what with all the time travel and Superman being a super-scientist like his dad and all. I enjoyed the Kents-centric approach of the Byrne era, but in retrospect it feels like your typical 80's superhero deconstruction, like Byrne was trying too hard to rationalize that aspect of the mythos. So I don't mind if they go back to giving the Kryptonian parents an equal or larger role.

I'm for level pegging for both the Kents and the Els. Each play very important roles in Clark's life. Yes the Kents have more time with him but his birth parents and cultural history are intrinsic to why he becomes Superman. That's the way I look at it anyway.

I think the Kents/Els switch that Byrne did had more to do with a bizarre grudge he has against overt longing from adopted kids, at least from browsing his message board.

Things i think about:

In the comics, every once in a while, Superman will purchase something at super speed. Like fly through, grab what he needs and leave the cost of it on the counter. I like to think that in with the money is a little slip of paper with an S shield on it so the clerk know what the hell just happened, and this is common knowledge. So all over the world shops and stores proudly hang these little slips of paper in frames in a prominent place in the store/restaurant.

I just completed my monthly All-Star Superman rereading, and I realised that it literally has my favourite moments for every Superman character.

Superman

Issue #10. All of it.

Lex Luthor

"Shorthand. Okay, something else to learn"

Jimmy Olsen

"Don't let anybody see him like this! You hear me?"

Lois Lane

*whilst being carried in the giant hand of Mechano-Man*

"Don't ask"

Perry White

*whilst facing down Lex Luthor with Superman's powers*

"The truth sent you to the chair, Luthor"

What are everyone else's defining moments for their favourite Superman characters?

The definitive Lois and Clark moment:

All Star again, I know, but it's just so perfect.
