Ideal Avengers Team? - Koltreg - 08-17-2011 07:06 AM If you were to cut down the Avengers to one team, any members are open, forget about popularity, which 6 members would you pick and who would be the team on it? Personally I'd like a fun all ages book that could give more attention to unused or less familiar characters. Iron Fist - leader of the group, moral center Mockingbird - interesting enough character but after the whole New Avengers sad stuff I want the character to have fun Dr. Strange - required magic user Devil Dinosaur/Moonboy - because yes. (also counting as 1 member) Namor - Namor makes everything fun Jazinda - the Skrull from She Hulk because ... Skrulls! As for the team I'd love Christos Gage (the guy behind Avengers Academy) writing it and either Roger Langridge or Marcos Martin on the art for a really weird but beautiful book to read. RE: Ideal Avengers Team? - Thomas Is Awesome - 08-17-2011 07:26 AM My ideal team is all classic guys, but if i were making one that i thought would be fun/interesting using a few non-traditional choices and have it still be recognizable as the avengers, I'd go with- Hawkeye as field leader, because he should always be an Avenger, i think The Hulk, with the personality he has on the awesome ass cartoon. The Falcon, because Cap or one of his sidekicks should be there. Namor, because every team needs an asshole. Machine Man. Ellis/Next Wave version And bring back Ares. because he was great. Tony and Cap would still be around as the public faces and to endorse them. Not Wolverine. I'd toss a lady or two in there for a little balance. Hellcat? Ms. Marvel? Spider-Woman? I dunno. I'm working up a proper team. Like for reals. Brace yourselves!!! RE: Ideal Avengers Team? - MaxtotheMax - 08-17-2011 08:01 AM D-Man as the leader because he's due. Hellstorm for magic because he's got nice hair. Stingray as the Iron Man/Namor combo and he's also due. Spider-Woman (Carpenter) for spider-quipping. She-Hulk for punches. Hawkeye for old time's sake. Jeff Parker writes and Farel Dalrymple draws. RE: Ideal Avengers Team? - Agent Orange - 08-17-2011 08:05 AM Hawkeye Black Panther Dr. Strange Moon Knight X-23 Ms. Marvel RE: Ideal Avengers Team? - Thomas Is Awesome - 08-17-2011 08:06 AM (08-17-2011 07:26 AM)Thomas Is Awesome Wrote: Hawkeye as field leader, because he should always be an Avenger, i think I'd read this book, although it is a bit of a sausage fest right now. Okay, replace Hulk with his cousin. RE: Ideal Avengers Team? - BIGREDROBOT - 08-17-2011 08:58 AM Okay, so here’s my team for really reals. GROUND RULES: Nobody who has their own ongoing title is allowed. (Sorry, T’challa and either of the Hulks. Love you guys, but rules is rules.) Can’t be in another team because that’s just dumb. (Looking at you, Wolverine) Must be a previously-inducted member of an Avengers team. Hawkeye - Ranged fighter. Avengers veteran. Team leader. Mockingbird - She’s the espionage vet. Good with hand-to-hand, cloak and dagger stuff. Plus, I always love it when spouses/couples are on a team together. Machine Man - With no Iron Man, we need another tin man with a drinking problem. Enter: Aaron Stack. He also fills the team’s jerk quota. She-Hulk - Brains and brawn. Falcon - Aerial combat, plus, dude can control birds. A steady hand and a level head. D-Man - He’s D-Man. Marvel, you know where to find me. RE: Ideal Avengers Team? - Agent Orange - 08-17-2011 09:01 AM I'd read the shit out of that, actually. But wouldn't it need at least a token magic user? Not saying it's necessary, but it could be sort of handy for situations.
