Did anyone watch the Scott Snyder interview on iFanboy the other night? He was saying that him and his best pal Jeff Lemire are working closely together on Swamp Thing and Animal Man and plan to have them overlap/complement each other, which is pretty cool. But what's even cooler than that is that they're going to swap on Sweet Tooth and American Vampire for one issue, so Jeff will do an issue of AV and Scott and Rafael will do Sweet Tooth, which sounds absolutely incredible. I'm too behind on Sweet Tooth but a Jeff Lemire issue of American Vampire is something I never knew I needed until now.

If you didn't pick up OMAC, you should really rectify that because the first issue was really, really, surprisingly excellent.

This book comes out next week and you should really pick it up. It's a forgotten gem.

If anyone didn't read Animal Man or Swamp Thing, both were really good and I highly recommend them.

I think Jason's right. I'd bet dollar to donuts that Didio's "Executive Producing" this thing and Giffen's doing the heavy lifting. Either way, it was really good.

I didn't care much for Swamp Thing, awesome Yanick Paquette art notwithstanding. I mentioned it over in the DCU Relaunch thread, but I got really tired of Snyder copy/pasting his biology notes into Alec Holland's dialogue balloons. Like, if somebody talked like that in real life, you would be rolling your eyes at them every time they "um, actually"-ed you over mass bird deaths or wrapping your legs in cabbage or whatever.

But yeah, Animal Man was solid and I enjoyed Action Comics quite a bit. I wish Paquette was drawing it instead of Rags Morales, though. And like Matt said, why did Buddy's kid have that really, really weird mullet, though?

But dudes, Thunderbolts and Hulk were both excellent, as usual. Jeff Parker is one of the few guys writing comics at Marvel that doesn't leave his fingerprints all over every page he writes.

I also picked up Casanova: Avaritia #1 and I have no idea if it was any good or not. And I also can't decide if this is a good thing or not.

iZombie and Sweet Tooth were both good, although iZombie felt a little slight this issue, but man, Mike Allred can freakin' draw, son. And the watercolor-esque coloring in Sweet Tooth was amaaazing.

Gah two of the three creator-owneds I wish I was up to date on (the third being Chew). I'm at that awkward stage where there's too much to go through back issues, not enough to read in trades. Life!
