I hope that by pushing Cyborg on us in the DCnU, they try to make him relatively interesting and not just using him as the token black guy on the team.

That's kind of Johns' thing isn't it? Taking an old neglected character or team and getting people reading about them again. I'm really surprised Cyborg hasn't been given his own series (unless it means JL will be Cyborg feat. the justice league).

If they were going for tokenism the smart choice would have been to put Vixen on the team, although I do think Vixen would fit in better since she's already associated with the league and it doesn't involve any awkward continuity reshuffles like Cyborg and the Teen Titans (you might have to retcon the Detroit League but with J'onn on Stormwatch that probably never happened).
