At least Stenfield had them throw a damn punch, all Kirt Parado did was have them ride across America and "reconnect with the people". Blech. I don't want "deep thought" from my superheroes, I just want tits, gore, and holofoil variant covers!

Stenfield WAS shit. Plain and simple. His writing was so predictable. "Blah blah blah bad guy #1234 over there", fight breaks out, "Blah blah blah", a failed attempt to be clever, end. THATS IT.

Kirt Parado saw the characters as real people! People who needed to show that they cared for those who they were protecting. Because hey, if you actually took the time to read the whole series you would see that before Parado took the reins they where in a world shattering fight with the Spuddlings. America was hit the hardest and they needed to show their support.

But hey if you wanna walk in here without the full story and go off on a rant then be my guest.

I'm not saying Stenfield didn't suck. All I'm saying is that he was better than Pirado. I did like Kilmetter Humphries' art with Pirado, and if his writing hadn't been so dry, I might have stuck with it. Neither of them could aspire to the depths of Austen Kepplre and that dire crossover with the Irrigatrices. Talk about Continuity Snarl. Vestibule Vixen's temporal status may never recover. And the art by Sartogro Odolfus? Low point of his career.
The only run I've come close to liking is Aaron Willerston's run where they meet Atokomis, the God of the Antimatter Realities.

That can't be Kronolorn, it's missing his signature shoulder plates. That has to be Timulous, the knockoff version they acquired from Felicitous Funnybooks after Felicitous was assimilated into GC in leiu of a massive lawsuit over their pornographic features featuring knockoffs of GC characters(even though it was covered by Fair Use), so I won't be surprised if he loses his opposable schlong. Don't you remember the crossover Universal Congress? That's why they can't use Sergeant Sassafrass in the Good-Doers movie, he's in their universe now. I do like that they've continued the Felicity features, though.

In short, Kronolorn's still dead, but it seems we'll still have a semblance of him, albeit a literally neutered one.

Hi everyone, I'm new here but I'm trying to track down something...

I'm looking for the old Captain Cup Cake comics: my niece is just starting to get interested in comics and I remember loving those books as a pre-teen... They were entertaining, exciting and funny in all the right ways (and the wrong ones, too - man, my mom used to proof read everything I got and she never understood what the Choco Blocker stood for!).

I'm talking of course about the original run by Milton Milton, not that stupid reboot they did in the 90s - yeah, when they apparently didn't realise that spelling CCC's name with K's was not a very bright idea. No wonder it got cancelled Sad

I tried to look up information on the internet, but all I found were Captain Cup Cake/Marshall Mellows slashfics - and I don't need anymore of that, thank you, and not just because I was the biggest MM's fangirl, mind you (I still have his old action figure on my desk, the one where you'd pull his Unibrowcorn's tail and rainbow strings would shoot out of its arse).

Does anyone know if there are any trades collecting the very first stories?

Well, if you've got cash to burn, you can plop down 100 smacks each on the 3(so far) Cup Cake Cuppendices, oversized to show off the Louis Garder art, amazing early examples of the man who'd become the legendary Stephen Leighton, creator of The Living Abstraction and Grizzy Walker, Slick Talker. Some say his pen name work is miles inferior, but it does show how he built his skills, especially in the 7 Deadly Danishes megaarc, where he experimented with revolutionary page layouts, making every issue a thrillride. These are about the size of the GC Omniplexes and Marret Gigallections, with about 600 pages apiece. Or if you're of the cheap persuasion, the Dumpster Diver Editions, digest size, and in black and white, should be about 20 apiece, with the same pagecount. For your money, the Cuppendices are your best bet.

So, I've heard Wayne Donnely's Spectacular Space Sexploits are going to be reprinted soon. Anyone have any more info?

Also, Graft The Leg ceased to exist in Post-Retconiverse, didn't he? I think that's The Antelope.
