Oh..

Where's Undead Wally Wood when you need him?

RE: The Pull List!
I honestly don't mind Bendis' talking heads or his dialogue bubbles everywhere. But yeah, that is exactly what I don't like about Bendis. Sorry Bendis!

So a actually related topic: Is there a good iPhone app that I can use that will let me know what comics I need to look for in the store on a given Wednesday? A link to HERE ARE ALL COMICS BEING RELEASED, is not what I am looking for. Because that is exactly what I see when I go into the store in the first place but instead of a list, it is physical comic books.

Also just caught up with the last 4 issues of Hulk. Man, this was some great comic booking.

It's kind of funny that I'm completely uninterested in Banner Hulk of Parker Spider-Man, but totally into Ross Hulk and Morales Spider-Man. This being that I grew up with these characters, but now can't seem to get into. That and any New X-Men stuff.

The last X-Men stuff I've read was the Messiah Complex. I remembered it being very much a X-Men event. But now I am totally lost with these characters. I want to read Remender's Uncanny X-Force. So again, I only want new versions of old characters. Crazy

Comixology makes an app called PullList (separate from their digital comics app) that I found handy:

For sure:
Batman, Incorporated #8
and
Blackjacked and Pistol Whipped: A Crime Does Not Pay TP Primer
[Image: YxyuX.jpg]
Quote:Gangsters, kidnappers, maniacal killers, and thugs of all stripes had their lurid stories recounted in Crime Does Not Pay! Featuring thrilling, brutal tales and disturbing, despicable characters, Crime Does Not Pay enthralled a nation and was the most popular comic book of its time. The series was a favorite target of Dr. Fredric Wertham and other censors and is partially responsible for the creation of the Comics Code Authority-yet it was also an inspiration for Harvey Kurtzman's reality-based EC Comics. See why this series was both revered and reviled in this unique "best of" primer!
* Crime Does Not Pay editor Bob Wood brutally murdered his girlfriend and was later murdered himself! This fascinating sidebar is detailed in an essay by cartoonist, historian, and co-editor Denis Kitchen.
* Contains a selection of stories from across the series' run in the 1940s, a new cover, an illustrated essay, and an introduction.
* All-new Crime-inspired cover by artist Pete Poplaski with colors by Bernie Mireault.

Here's my list for this week:

Batman, Inc. #8 - I'm not looking forward to the art on this one, but whatever.

Dark Horse Presents #3 - I've loved large swaths of the first two issues, so I'm staying on board for this until it bombs completely.

Dungeons & Dragons #10 - This book is so good, you guys.

FF #8 - Check out that Acuña cover. That is my jam.

Uncanny X-Force #13 - I think I'd be enjoying this a lot more if I knew anything at all about the Age of Apocalypse, but it's still pretty boss hog. I even tried reading the wiki for AoA, but my eyes glazed over and I went into a terrible coma and had to be revived by paramedics or something. Also, poor Mark Brooks. I'm just counting down until Jerome Opeña gets back on this thing and we can have the hot hot sexy back. Brooks is doing a decent job, but my UXF is all Euro and hot pink and spindly and whatnot.

Xombi #6 - This book. I like it.

Have to agree about it being disappointing, though it's been on a downward slide for a long time. Bendis' framing of everything with confessional talking heads is just f*cking a waste of my time.

However, "the inker" was KLAUS JANSON. Klaus f'n Janson! I know his is an acquired taste, but he's my favorite inker for JRJR and for Frank Miller.

RE: The Pull List!
Picking up:
AmVamp 18: the pacing really sped up last issue with several reveals I was expecting he'd save for then end. So really looking forward to this. And the art is SO GOOD
Xombi 6: Everyone agrees this has been great, right?
Gates of Gotham 5: does anyone know if McCarthy is for sure doing this issue?
Action Comics 904: man this has been harsh. Cornell has enough good ideas and strong characterization to make this readable, but this has been a mess otherwise.
Flashpoint Project Superman, Kid Flash, Hal Jordan 3: two pretty solid tie-ins and one that my dad wanted to read

Klaus Johnson and John Romita Jr are THE GREATEST OF ALL. I did an art project on Romita once.

Batman Inc #8
FF #8
Uncanny X-Force #13
Ultimates #1
Captain America and Bucky #621
Superman Beyond #0

Man, this week is so my week. My three favourite books atm (Inc, FF, X-Force), plus Hickman's Ultimates and Samnee on Cap and Bucky. Have no idea of what to expect from Superman Beyond but I love Batman Beyond and I love Superman, so. Oh and I'll pick up DC Presents: Teen Titans #1 because I didn't last week.
