The art left me cold and Morrison must have been having some sort of fever dream when writing this tosh! Every writer is allowed a duff story or issue from time to time and this is Morrison's. |

RE: Buttman Is Awesome
Final Crisis was confusing the first time I read it, but it grew on me. Out of all the Morrison I've read, I probably like RIP the least. It still doesn't really make sense to me, and Zur En Arrh was a weird pull for a plot element.

The only issue I have with it is that you have to also buy/read Superman Beyond to understand what happens at the end. A big event might not have been the best time to let Morrison go off on about the nature of the superhero, the multiverse and all that jazz like he did. At the time I first read it I found it very interesting but felt it didn't really fit we the nature of the event comic. I will say this and I hope you will agree with me: Final Crisis is better than Fear Itself. |

Then maybe you can help me understand the whole radio thing at the end. It felt like total deus ex machina plot point to me. But I have a good history of totally missing things in Morrison comics. The Batman of Zurr En Arrh was a back-up personality Bruce Wayne had put in place should his Batman identity ever become compromised. Once the Black Glove had broken Batman and driven him insane, that personality took over until it could get stabilized enough to "reboot" the master Batman program.
