The Pull List!

RE: The Pull List!
Felt Action and Animal were the best of the relaunch bunch. OMAC had a lot of charm... Hawk and Dove on the other hand... that was pretty weak...
only interesting thing in it was the mention of some great crisis in the DC past - which one will they go with? Stormwatch wasn't half bad... little too much exposition, but hey, it was a first issue.

Pull-list for Baby Week. It’s like Shark Week, only with slightly more weird poopy diapers. No idea if I’ll actually be able ot pick all of these up (it’s another big week, comics-wise, and I got life-stuff that takes precedence), but here’s my list:

Amazing Spider-Man #669
I’m liking Spider Island enough. Dunno if I’ll stick around afterward, though.

Daredevil #3
I have zero doubt this will be just as good as the first two issues have been. Get on this.

Demon Knights #1
Giving this a whirl because I like Cornell and I like Etrigan the Demon.

Fear Itself #6 (Of 7)
Yeah, I know. But I’ve gone this far.

Frankenstein Agent Of S.H.A.D.E. #1
Crossing my fingers that this ends up better than the Flashpoint mini which started off okay and then fell apart before whimpering to a close.

Herc #7
I forgot to take this off my pull-list and just decided to ride it out until it wraps up in issue #10. It’s entertaining enough, but it’s not grabbing me. And I am not a huge fan of the art thus far.

Scalped #52
You’re reading this, right? Because you should really be reading this.

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #1
New Spidey has me intrigued. Hoping it can breathe new life into a title I’d written off a long time ago.

Uncanny X-Force #15
This book is always pretty good, but when Opeña’s on board, it’s like some sort of magic or something.

Unwritten #29
I’m always pleasantly surprised when a new Unwritten issue comes out.

25% off all the new DC titles at the shop is getting me to try a lot of stuff, I must say.

Batman & Robin: Between this and Batman, just hoping for there to be one good to very good Batman book on the stands until Morrison finishes up Incorporated.

Batwoman: Been waiting So. Goddamn. Long.

Demon Knights: Giving it a swing. Fan of Cornell's stuff and hopefully this book isn't cursed by awful art like Stormwatch.

Frankenstein: Lemire's got the best book of the launch so far, let's see if he goes 2 for 2.

Legion Lost: Getting this because I loved the original series of the same name (despite no connection between them) and Pete Woods drawing sci-fi superheroics sounds pretty great.

Resurrection Man: The original series was a forgotten gem, glad to see this conecpt get another chance.

The rest:

Daredevil: So good you guys.

Criminal: See above.

Pigs: Interesting premise, the art previews I've seen look great and always glad to give a new indie series a shot.

My Enormous Pull List

AMERICAN VAMPIRE SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST #4 (OF 5)
BATMAN AND ROBIN #1
DAREDEVIL #3
DEMON KNIGHTS #1
FEAR ITSELF #6 (OF 7)
FRANKENSTEIN AGENT OF S.H.A.D.E. #1
GRIFTER #1
RED LANTERNS #1
ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #1
UNCANNY X-FORCE #15

I'm genuinely annoyed at how many books are out this week. Mostly because a lot of these are #1s that I'm just curious enough to sample but not enough to be excited about. Batman and Robin, Batwoman and Red Lantern are likely to get culled, but I'm interested enough in Bruce teaming up with Damian and Peter Milligan writing Atrocitus that I guess we'll just have to wait until I get into the store. And maybe Batwoman, I don't know, I didn't get into the original so I don't see how losing Rucka will get me into it.

But man, Marvel kill it again, eclipsing all the DC stuff with Ultimate Spider-Man, Daredevil and Uncanny X-Force.

Here's one I'd be trying if I wasn't so overwhelmed this week.

Dang. Yeah, both Pigs and the John Carter comic look good. Maybe I'll pick 'em up next week? I dunno. How's next week looking? Crazy again?

Fear Itself 6-of-7: Started reading this because I wanted to get the full Bucky Cap story. Ready for it to be over.

Grifter #1: My first DC comic in a long time. I was a fan of the WILDcats back when I was much to young to have an educated opinion about anything, so I'm excited to see Grifter again.

Herc #7: Herc is the man. Gotta love the Herc.

New Avengers #16: All of the Fear Itself issues of New Avengers read like character-specific one-offs. Again, I'm ready for FE to be over.

Deadpool #43: Deadpool hasn't been that bad lately. Here's to hoping it stays interesting!

Super Dinosaur #4 and Jurassic Park: Dangerous Games #1: Dinosaurs, brah.

RE: The Pull List!
Once again I'll be getting all the DC #1s. I'm most excited for Batwoman though.

On a semi-related note, where do you guys and gals get your info on what comics are coming out each week? I use ComicList.

Check out my podcast, Bat Issues. It's like Tom vs, but about Batman.

My local comic shop posts all the new releases, and sends out a newsletter twice a week.
