My Pull List

ACTION COMICS #2
ANIMAL MAN #2
INVINCIBLE #83
O.M.A.C. #2
ROGER LANGRIDGES SNARKED #1
SWAMP THING #2

I just realized I'm not getting any Marvel books this week, which really bums me out. Because I just realised that I'm enjoying Marvel books a hell of a lot more than DC books lately. I've never affiliated myself with either company, choosing my books based on creators and word of mouth, never characters, but the way Marvel have been handling themselves of late has been absolutely fantastic. For my money, Daredevil, Cap and Bucky and Uncanny X-Force are the best books on the stands by a mile, and every time a Jeff Parker book comes out (which is like every week lately), I'm annoyed at myself for not reading it. (Speaking of which, can anyone point me to a good jumping on point with Hulk?)

ANYWAY. Now that we've trimmed the fat from the New 52, I'm left with 10 titles I'm sticking with for the foreseeable future, although this list will get smaller pretty soon as half of them are barely there. I'll be sticking with Action and Animal Man for a while, but Swamp Thing better impress me this week or I might just end up dropping a Scott Snyder book this week, and that would be a shame. For all his overuse of narration and anecdote, I really enjoy his books, particular Detective and American Vampire. And I never would have expected to buy OMAC #1 two months ago, let alone OMAC #2.

Oh, and Snarked #1! I loved the #0 from a couple of months back, and although that was mostly because it was a great comic, one of the biggest draws was how much content you got from a $1 comic. #1 is $3.99, and I'm sure I'll love it anyway, but I hope it gives me a reason to spend four times as much as I did on the previous issue.

I'm also super excited about the Hark! A Vagrant HC, because Kate Beaton man, although I might just wait and get it from Amazon because trades is expensive in Australia (my stores conversion rate is 1.5x USD, which is cheaper than most, and while I can deal with paying $4.50 for a $3 comic, I'm not big on spending $30 on a book I can get for $12 on Amazon).

That was one long ass pull list post. Forgive me, I haven't posted in a while. You know, opinions.

This week's issue starts off a new storyline. And Parker does a good job of keeping you up to speed from issue to issue.

I haven't seen it, but Imma guess it's probably something like Invincible's dad punching through an old lady or something.

Sweet, I think I might pick up the point one issues for Hulk and Thunderbolts too. They were supposed to get the .1 job done better than most other comics, right?

The .1 Hulk was really great and it introduces General Fortean, who will be showing up in this arc. But the storyline started in .1 (Ross can't go to human form) was just wrapped up.

Someone figured out how to turn that guys bat hole into strands of delicious grape taffy. That's my two cents.
