Okay, I've got to be completely honest here. I haven't read much Mark Waid at all, and I hate that about myself. I'm trying to think of what I've read outside of Daredevil and a few of his ASM issues and I'm coming up blank. His Fantastic Four run is very high on my to-read list, but what else should I read? I've heard good things about his Cap?

Flash, Impulse, both his Legion runs, Incorruptible and Irredeemable, and Kingdom Come are all good, and I've heard good stuff about Empire.

Oh yeah, Flash and Impulse are also on the list.

Dudes. Come on.

Also, Gladstone's School for World Conquerors (First trade comes out November 16th! Same day as issue #7!) and Witch Doctor.

I can't help it if I've got a heavy flow and a wide set vagina!
I'm now on the Tweety!
I'm also tumbling!

Thing is the aim of this thread was more "if you want to know where to start on a particular character, title, or writer, here's your area" than "hey, here's good comics". We had a thread for that. Also, if they're here and don't know AR, well, they have some reading to do.

RE: Recommend Me...
Can somebody recommend something really, really good that Geoff Johns has done? Like, his best work. Preferably a single trade paperback rather than just saying, "Green Lantern." Because I really don't see what people see in the guy and I'd love to be educated as to why he's one of the most popular creators out there.

This is a serious request.

Superman: Up, Up and Away is my favorite (non All-Star) Superman story of the last 10 years. However, that's co-written by Kurt Busiek, if you're looking for solo-Geoff Johns, go with Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes which is also very, very good.

I also liked his old Flash work, which can be found in a nice Omnibus.

If you're not looking for an Omnibus, I would recommend volume 4 of the trade, Blitz about the new Zoom.

I find it very difficult to enjoy anything Geoff Johns is writing these days but I still love Superman: Brainiac. It certainly isn't perfect but I think reading it like it's the Donner Superman really makes it work.

I really like Johns' Booster Gold stuff, and Superman and the Legion is a solid rec.
