RE: Doctor Who
Today's shirt at TeeFury is a tuxedo-tee based on the 11th Doctor. I'm not a fan of tuxedo-tees, but I dig this.

RE: Doctor Who
You have no idea how many random strangers will walk up to you when you're wearing a Doctor Who shirt.

RE: Doctor Who
Doctor Who does seem to have one of the nicest open fanbases I have seen so far, or at least fans of the recent series.
On another note, I've been at home watching the series from Series 1, and I'm halfway through 3, with my sister and the rest of my family comes in and sees the worst episodes for an outside. My mom staring blankly at Daleks in Manhattan was hella awkward. Still love the series though. Changeling and Socialfist. Check those out. |

RE: Doctor Who
Staying intentionally vague to avoid having to use spoiler tags--I gathered that what clued the Doctor in to that thing was the fluctuating Tardis monitor, not what Amy had told him.

RE: Doctor Who
I wouldn't over-analyze that scene, it's my opinion that the writer was trying to build up suspense of....whatever they were talking about (Amy thinks it's her pregnancy, I assumed the Silence was referring to the Doctor's death [which he's not supposed to know about]).
If you want an in-story reason for the Silence saying that I'd say that they were leading the Doctor along, they needed him to figure some stuff out in order to get him to the right time and place (Demon's Run). This is the exact dialogue in case someone want to give their two cents: Spoiler (Click to View) (10-10-2011 02:55 PM)danielfelts Wrote: So here's my question about season six. RE: Doctor Who
Torchwood I have not been able to get into. I tried the first few episodes and it didn't grab me though I was told it is better later on.

RE: Doctor Who
Torchwood is a mixed bag for me. The first two series (the 'monster of the week' episodes) were not great but at least (IMHO) were worth a watch. All the character were unlikable, even Jack Harkness lost the exuberance for life which he had in Doctor Who which made his character lovable.
Series 3 and 4 for me were terrible. Most Torchwood fans disagree with me and love the last two. I think they tried to 'mature' the show up but just ended up adding what they assumed are 'mature' material. The last series is a straight-up action series with almost no connection to the Doctor Who universe (Jack name-drops the Doctor but that's it). So I have to half disagree with you. |

RE: Doctor Who
I think it falls into the same misunderstanding that stories rated mature are mature that a lot of comics do. Like the first three cases had something to do with rape or sex. It's like Doctor Who: SVU.
