Avengers Vs. X-Men
So … zero issue and first issue have dropped. Thoughts?

RE: Avengers Vs. X-Men
Just finished reading it.
I...I don't know why I do this to myself. Why do I insist on reading these summer events when I know they're going to be terrible and never change anything? 1. Tony Stark is unbelievably whiny. 2. Cyclops seems to become more and more of a giant asshole every time I see him. 3. John Romita, Jr's art is just...ugh. I'm sorry if you guys like it, I can't stand it. 4. I never liked Hope. I thought she got too into the "Messiah" role and it eventually made her very unlikable. 5. Cap and the Avengers are totally on the right path, it's Cyclops and the X-Men who are going to be the enemy this time. Having said that, I'll still read it because I'm a sociopath apparently. I can't help it if I've got a heavy flow and a wide set vagina! I'm now on the Tweety! I'm also tumbling! |

RE: Avengers Vs. X-Men
That...was not good. Bendis pretty much ignored any sort of characterization that's been built up between Cyclops and Hope over the last 2 years or so. Not to mention the dialogue in and of itself was just poor.

One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just doesn't belong...
![]() I feel exactly about this as I felt about #0. Seriously, am I supposed to enjoy this banal and contrived dialogue, anger, fear, and characterizations that seem to come from now where, and art that seems like its from 20 years ago? And my free Nova comic doesn't work. Who is writing/drawing #2, because I can't take another issue like this. Twitter Tumblr Spotify |

RE: Avengers Vs. X-Men
I believe Bendis and JRjr are doing the main series while the others do the tie-ins and stuff.

Issue #2 is written by Jason Aaron, according to this cover. Bendis was the only writer in that lineup that I really disliked, and now that he's out of the way, maybe it'll get better? I dunno. Yeah I'll give Aaron a shot as he is KILLING Wolverine and the X-Men, but this issue just seem so, I don't know, predictable. Oh well, I technically didn't have to pay for it and it paid for half of my John Cater (signed!) so not a total waste. Twitter Tumblr Spotify |

RE: Avengers Vs. X-Men
I didn't think this issue was anything special. While the dialogue didn't feel all that decompressed (though the exchange between the Protector and Iron Man seemed pointless) it did not really have any hook to it. Yeah sure, the Phoenix is coming back and there's going to be big ol' brawl with the Avengers and X-Men but I didn't feel all that excited for it. Maybe the second issue will change all that.
Although I thought the Nova comic was pleasant. |

RE: Avengers Vs. X-Men
OK, so tell me again why Mark Waid isn't writing this series? Nova was really cool, and I liked the way the art played along with the scrolling. This is what Marvel should be pimping, not the AR thing, which is just annoying.
