Wouldn't Bruce need more than 4 years training to be good enough to just not get killed on his first night out as a 17 year old bat in Gotham?

Naturally.

Personally I'd rather just not take anything as fact unless mentioned explicitly by either Didio or Geoffcon.

And anything they say will probably get retconed by them away in a few years.

Didio would probably have him trained by magic fairies though...

It's an interesting idea. While that definitely makes the Robin dynamic work a little better, I really only see a teen Bruce Wayne traveling the world like in that Chris Roberson Superman team-up from a few months back. I can't see a teen Batman without thinking of Terry McGinnis.

Well Bruce is a prodigy, so I don't think it would be a problem. Look at how quickly all the Robins learned to fight and went on patrols. They can't fight as well as Batman, of course, but then they didn't have 4 years of training, and they aren't Bruce Wayne.

I can see Batman being in his early-mid 30s in the regular series (and that he started being Batman around 20/21 at the earliest). Until Superman showed up he was an urban legend, not a superhero, so Supes would still be the first "superhero" to show up.

I heard he was gonna be in his mid-40's. Which could be interesting.

I though he already was (close to) mid-40s.

It would be weird if Batman was significantly older than Superman. Although it might work on a whole new level with the optimism of youthful Supes and an older hardened by life Bats
