Or we could have an older, warm Superman contrasted with a "FUCK YOU, DAD" 25-year old Batman.

Or what if they were both old-ish dudes? And like lived next door to each other in the suburbs. And ended up in hilarious situations and misunderstandings. Or what if they were in their 20's and living in the city and operating a pizza parlor together?
I smell sitcom. We could call it "SuperBat Pizza Friends." Dylan Todd /// Design Portfolio /// Etsy / Tumblr / Twitter |

I would watch/read the hell out of that.
Check out my podcast, Bat Issues. It's like Tom vs, but about Batman. |

I gotta agree with Wilson and Haley on this, no way did anyone at DC think about this. I wasn't at SDCC but every recap I read mentioned that when DC Editorial were asked about how much planning went into the relaunch, they all kind of shifted awkwardly in their seats and conceded that there wasn't much. Morrison said he started work on Action in March, so that's roughly two months before the announcement, five months before the release. I don't think this relaunch has been as well planned as it needs to be.
And that's maybe my biggest problem with this relaunch? I think the success of this thing hinges on how long they can keep it together. Marvel are arguably much better at this sort of thing than DC and they struggle to do it with four books in the Ultimate Universe, I don't see how DC can keep 52 books together for longer than six months. tumblr twitter covergallery |

Well, if I remember right, Morrison already said that his Batman probably started fighting crime at about 20/21.
Plus...really, I don't try to think about the exact ages of these characters. It'll almost never work out, and trying to make it work in your head will only lead to madness. |

I always imagined Superman and Batman to be at least 5 if not 10 years older than all the other superheroes, there's a fatherly aspect about them that I really love, I really hope DCnU Batman is NOT 25 years old, that would ruin a lot of the dynamics for me, at the very least he should be on his thirties. |

Yeah. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman feel like the DCU's parents to me, and I think that works well. But if Superman is starting 5 years ago, and Batman started at 17 before that, it seems like he would be older. Unless superman started when he was in his 20s. I'm sure this will never come up and Supes and Bats will be roughly the same age because character ages are always pretty loosely defined. Check out my podcast, Bat Issues. I don't know about you guys, but I completely REFUSE to believe Batman is going to be the same age as Nightwing in the DCnU, unless there is confirmation from somebody in the higher ups of DC Comics, I think it's a disastrous decision that completely destroys the dynamic between many characters of the DC universe. |
