RE: The Pull List!
As much as I am not interested in reading an Avengers book by Bendis anymore, this announcement officially adds Avengers to the Pull List: http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/09/22...rs-artist/

I'm sure there's got to be some intelligent business reason for this, but I'll be damned if I can figure out what it is.

I think it has something to do with their event pacing. It's my understanding that the end of The Children's Crusade, Wanda will do something (like give all the mutants back their powers) that will spark, not so much an event, but a shift in the universe dynamic (cuz let's face it: Now there's a difference between a big event and a BIG EVENT, and that's getting confusing on its own).
So, lets say that DareDevil is supposed to address that in issue 16, but Children's Crusade #7 is supposed to drop in time for Christmas - Marvel would need to push the next 12 issues out pronto in order to make sure the time lines line up for the big shift.
At least that's my theory.

At least, that's my theory.

I just finished Children's Crusade #7 (OMG so good), and I think you're right. I won't spoil it, but it's definitely going to lead into something big.

I'm fairly sure it's a cynical attempt to keep their market share up while they get drubbed by DC during the re-launch.

Well, they've been doing it longer than just this month, but I'd guess that if they can get saps like myself to purchase a regular issue, a Point One issue, and a few extra issues every month, the Disney stockholders will be very happy indeed and maybe print comics will survive a little bit longer.

For example, Uncanny X-Force launched in October of last year. 12 months ago. And last week, issue #15 shipped. Oh, and there was a Point One issue in there as well. So they sold 16 issues of UXF in one year. Not bad for them. Not good for my wallet, though.

That Avengers 1959 mini-series looks hell of tizzight, too.

When great artists are put on boring books. At least if it was a bad book, I could just say no. But boring books with great art are much harder to turn down.

Speaking of great art, who else is super bummed about Samnee leaving Cap & Bucky after #624. Francavilla is coming onto it, which is nice, but Samnee makes that book.

Although I am not a huge Millar fan, though I loved his Zauriel mini and some of his other early Morrison era work, this looks quite amazing.

Brits and Scifi are just a go for me. And that cover... Mmmmmm.

So, you guys better be reading Witch Doctor.

If not, then I'll...I'll...go to your house and probably not do anything, but ask nicely.

He"s doing Ultimate Spider-Man so it can double-ship in December. He's doing issue six and I assume more.
