Especially on Marvel's end, I don't remember the last time they had an off week. Everyone's talking about DC lately, and understandably, but I think there's a lot to be said about how well Marvel have been running things lately. There's an abundance of quality books out there, and their "architects" are Fraction, Aaron, Brubaker, Bendis and Hickman, for christ sake. They're really doing a lot of things right lately, and this is coming from a guy that loves to criticize Marvel's methods.

Can't argue.

Marvel has been strong for the past few months. This week though it looks a bit grim. There are only two books from Marvel on my pull list! Marvel's resent focus on their writers seems to be working for the most part when you get Bendis being his usual entertaining self and writers like Hickman doing amazing things in books like S.H.I.E.L.D. The only bad thing for me recently has been Fear Itself.

It is interesting but poorly handled by all involved I think. Nothing happened for the first two or so issues and all the tie-ins just have people standing around saying, "I'm really scared. This is scary. Are you scared? Because I'm scared. Boy! This is scary." Not actually showing any real fear. I also think it was summed up the best (I can't for the life of me remember where I read it) when someone said it was basically Blackest Night with hammers. Once I read that it all made sense! Especially when Tony Stark started making those new weapons.

I usually really enjoy the Marvel event books but this has left me cold. Thank god for Spider-Island!

Anyway here is my pull list for this coming week:

DC:
Action Comics #1
Animal Man #1
Batgirl #1
Detective Comics #1
Justice League International #1
Stormwatch #1
Swamp Thing #1

Marvel:
New Avengers Annual #1
Spider-Island: Avengers #1

And this week the reboot completely takes over my pull-list. A few of these (Batgirl, Batwing, OMAC) I'm only pulling for the first issue to see if they're not shit.

Here's mine

ACTION COMICS #1
ANIMAL MAN #1
MORNING GLORIES #12
STORMWATCH #1
SWAMP THING #1
WOLVERINE DEBT OF DEATH #1

and

MEGA MAN TP VOL 01

Not too sure about Stormwatch, as I've never read it but am a fan of Cornell (although I will be getting Demon Knights so that could scratch the itch), and I might pick up Batgirl #1 out of curiosity. And I wish I was picking up Casanova and Atomic Robo but sadly I'm too far behind.
Oh and also, thanks to Labor Day or whatever holiday you guys had this week, we're getting our comics a day late here in Australia, so Action Comics #1 is TWO DAYS AWAY. Kill me.

RE: The Pull List!
Why isn't everyone here reading Sweet Tooth? For shizzles? I think I am going to be reading that before Action #1 this week (maybe).
Edit: Forget that noise (I must be exhausted, I'm typing like I'm trapped in 7th grade), Animal Man #1, drool.
