I'm seriously this close to dropping Avengers. It's easily the worst title out in the line. I opened it up and saw the first page was more talking heads and promptly put it back on the shelf.
It's been a long time since I've gotten angry over a comic, but Avengers is really annoying me now. Especially now the talking head stuff creeped over into New Avengers too.

It was OK for a single issue, but now it's just exposion at its worst, telling people what's going on and why characters feel how they do without showing it. It's like the old describtion heavy narrator boxes got drunk and launched an invasion on speech bubbles.

Although one nice thing this week was Power Girl #27. I've been waiting for Da Bomb to show up since Peej got her own series.

Hey guys, remember when I was kvetching about how Venom was all emo and dramatic and not action-y enough? Well, I'm gonna shut up now because issue #6 was pretty dang great. Also, Hulk was totally badass and Daredevil was perrrrrrfection.

RE: The Pull List!
The only thing I pretty much bought was Daredevil #2, which was great. I did skim through a few of the other comics on sale and a lot of it was a hit or miss for what little I read. The Flashpoint tie-ins looked like crap to me and I just can't stand the talking heads stuff Bendis is doing with the Avengers. I did like the new X-Men Schism and Walking Dead though.

However, for next week I'm looking forward to:

FF #8: We finally get back to the main story!
Punisher #2: I thought the first issue was good, can't wait to see what this one has in store.

And that's pretty much it, but the most comic I'm least looking forward to is:

Batman Incorporated #8: Great Caesar's Ghost the art for it makes my eyes bleed. I've been liking the series but the CG art makes me want to skip this issue entirely and just wait for the one-shot.

Daredevil was the boom-daddy. Waiting for trade on Venom is killing me.

Is it the Morrison apologist in me that I don't find that Inc. #8 art that bad? I mean, I lived through Phillip Tan and Tony Daniel.

RE: The Pull List!
Bendis talking head issues are totally justified because all of his characters have such individual voices and the nuance of their character really shines through in his dialogue..

I think part of his deal with the fifth-dimensional beings who gave him his super-writing-powers is that everything he does that lasts for more than a few issues will be marred by bad art at some point. I think I heard that on NPR or something.

Morrison is a little "unlucky" in regards to getting the artists that he wants, he really hates Dave McKean with a passion.

Even though that hate is probably a little unjustified.
