The guys House to Astonish essentially said the same thing. It's not that it's a bad comic (again, still haven't read it, so not my thoughts) but it doesn't necessarily raise the bar that one would expect from a massive relaunch like this. Their line of reasoning was that this felt more like the first part of a story when a comic with this amount of hype needed to be a complete story (whether that story fit within the confines of the pages they had there or the comic should have been double sized).

From a construction stand point, it's not the best way to grip new readers. I've seen a lot of comments elsewhere that have stated it was successful in getting them to buy their first Justice League comic in years, but not necessarily successful in convincing them to buy second issue.
