I'm not sure if it's because I'm such mark for Daniel Acuna, Aaron's doing that great of a job, or both, but they've got the hook in so deep that I'm willing to read that Kubert issue at the end. Anyone else think the fact that this book is coming out more than once a month is a (big?) reason why it's maintained our interest/excitement more than some other "event" books? |

Hm. Maybe. It could also be that there aren't 50 tie-ins that drag the story down. I think that's the big issue with Fear Itself (Not counting the immense amount of decompression. 5 issues in and only one Worthy has been defeated? Fuck that), but not with Flashpoint, oddly. I can't help it if I've got a heavy flow and a wide set vagina! I'm now on the Tweety! I'm also tumbling! |

I like that it's coming out at a steady clip, has top-notch art on every issue (Er, and Adam Kubert.), the accessibility of the story and the fact that it's relatively self-contained all sort of form up for a Voltron of awesome. RE: X-Men: Schism
I haven't read #3 yet but the first two issues left me a little underwhelmed. I had hoped the mini might be more about the actual schism rather than the lead up to it but I suppose that was naive (and may be a moot point after 3).
As for post-event, I'd be more inclined to have picked up Uncanny rather than Wolverine+ but with Bachalo on Wolverine+, I'll probably have to check out both. Which I'm giving brownie points to Marvel for as so far the only book to even slightly tempt me from DC is Manapul's Flash. |

If they were honest, they'd change the title to Cyclops Can't Have Nice Things.

RE: X-Men: Schism
Finally got around to reading these. Chris was totally right when he said you don't have to be up on the last however many years to jump in, and more importantly, i'm really digging the Scott/Logan dynamic. In just three issues Aaron's sold me on the friendship and the cracks forming in it.
Plus, it's just fun. It's all the classic X-Men stuff. |

RE: X-Men: Schism
I love that the Hellfire kids are using alien stuff to take down the X-Men. The more we can be reminded that it's the Marvel Universe and not the Marvel USA or the Marvel NYC, the better.
