But after the straight-up infuriating/terrible back half of the first mini-season, I was wondering if I'd even bother with the second season. After the disappointment of Person of Interest and Terra Nova, I didn't know if my nerd heart could abide another crushing blow. And while the season premiere didn't crush me, it left a lot to be desired.

It's funny that the show seems to be trying very hard this last episode to try and make itself a little more like Lost (which I'd be fine with), but Lost was at least funny every now and then. Sure thes epeople were all surviving on a weirdo island, but it wasn't super-serious survival mode all of the time. Walking Dead, on the other hand … yeesh. This is sooooo damned po-faced serious all of the time.

And I don't buy any of the characters as anything but stereotypical TV show characters, but maybe that's because instead of building up the personalities of the cast in the six episodes they had last season, they spent two hours talking about how the zombie virus works. Duh.

I dunno. I want it to be good. I need something besides Fringe to fill this Lost-shaped hole in my nerd heart.

I know that feel, aa I currently have a Batman: BATB-shaped hole in mine.

RE: The Walking Dead TV Show
Does anybody else feel like the episodes so far this season aren't structured like at all? Like, stuff happens and people say stuff and then … it's just … over? Is it just me?

Also, it's so hot and sweaty and Southern and Rick is still wearing his cop uniform? Dude, get some shorts or something. Or just wear the undershirt. Keep the hat, fine, whatever, it's like a symbol of you being a force of order in a disordered world or whatever – but you will sweat a lot less if you shed some of those unnecessary layers and get some shorts or something. Geez.

Also, Racist Little Brother Dude is totally Sawyer with his bag of pilfered pills.

They did fire all of the old writing staff but yeah, my family commented on that too. :ast season they were a lot more fast paced and now it is more meandering.
