After reading Wanted and Kick-Ass I quit Mark Millar, and I find I can't even revisit his old stuff because it's just the same notes that he plays over and over again I just really detest his ultracynical and almost hateful comics.

I don't find it cool, funny in that over the top sort of way, or edgy to hear about (because I sure as hell ain't gonna read Nemesis) a villain that makes the son and daughter of the 'hero' screw each other and then force the daughter to become pregnant with the child a bomb will sterilize her if they abort the baby. Seriously, fuck that noise.

The only stuff of his I like is Red Son, The Authority and Ultimates 1 and 2.

Though I have only just started reading Ultimate X-Men and it seems alright so far.

I've pretty much given up on Millar producing anything that'll interest me after I read Nemesis #1.

His Superman Adventures stuff is excellent, though I doubt that was all him. Same with Aztek and The Flash, where I think Morrison did a lot of the work there. His Authority, Ultimates and Wolverine: Enemy of the State are big dumb fun. After that, I dunno. I really loathed Kick Ass and what I read of Wanted. Just vile, hateful stuff. Not my scene.

I just remembered Millar did a pretty good Streets of Rage comic for Sonic the Comic.

Although his Sonic strips were middling, like they were written for preschool children. There's a massive difference between the simple plot and innocent characters and egg puns (I think they were his first "professional" published work) and what he's turning out now, thinking about that makes me wonder how a Sonic comic would turn out no written by Millar.

I always found it odd that Image United, The Twelve, ASBARTBW/whatever it's called now, Millar's other comics (and Ult Wolverine vs Hulk/the second Young Avengers series back in the day) all got the old jokes about them not coming out on time but War Heroes never got called out. Probably because no one read it, but still, I want to see it mocked!

I really, really liked Supergods. It's worth reading. WARNING: it will make you want to read and make lots of comics.
