Thread for talking about any of Marvel's Avengers books.

So, Secret Avengers #18. Wow. This book is obviously too much fun to not be cancelled now, right?

Well, who knows what's gonna get canned over at the House of Iderrrrs, but between Ellis and Remender's upcoming stint, this book has got me on board like a sonuvagun.

I liked the last issue fine, but David Aja is really what sold me on this issue more than anything. His style is a good solid grounding for Ellis to be as out there as he wants.

Oh man, and Daniel Acuna on Avengers?! I mean, I'm pretty burned out on Bendis writing the Avengers, but I'm down for Acuna all day, every day.

Well, who knows what's gonna get canned over at the House of Iderrrrs, but between Ellis and Remender's upcoming stint, this book has got me on board like a sonuvagun.

I want to go all-in on Secret Avengers as I'm loving Ellis's work and Remender is giving me the warm fuzzies, but man, I'm cutting my monthlies down to a hard cap of maybe 10 a month and since it's going to be double-shipping that means I have to slash two books off my pull-list to afford it. Looks like it'll be trades only, so I'll catch up to y'all in about a year on it. Maybe I'll just wait and grab the omnibus in three years. Woo!

Have they even addressed Hawkeye's costume change? It just seemed to me that they just suddenly put him in the Ultimates duds. And then we have the return of Vision, what the heck does that mean for the one on the Young Avengers?

I have to read it for Acuna's art, but I have no problem saying that I'm really tired of Bendis' version of The Avengers. Every character sounds like every other character and almost no one sounds like they should. When has Black Panther EVER talked like that?

I literally groaned at that "We can't trust anyone! HAMMER is everywhere!" bit. I'm sick to death of comics where no one can be trusted.

And while I'm complaining about Avengers books, does anyone here read Avengers Academy? I keep hearing people talk about how great it is, but then I read that new issue and so much of the dialogue is groan-worthy at best that I think surely I must be reading the wrong Avengers Academy.

I really loved Avengers Academy about 90% of the time I was reading it. I will say that the first Spider-man issue with the students I hated because they all sounded off and that was the same writer on it so he can be off base.
That said I haven't picked up the series in a few months so I have no idea.
