RE: The Next Event Comic
There should totally be a new Crona the Barbarian ongoing though. Just her and her classic squad, i.e.
Merlin Jr., Gadgeteer and son of the Wizard Sir Lucas, Paladin of the Light Glenda, the Frog Princess Promethea R63-XX, android from the far future Brother Ayleid of Ioka Cave Monastery The Magus With No Name (08-21-2011 01:53 AM)JustLukeJohnson Wrote:(08-21-2011 01:43 AM)Frankensteins Monster Wrote:(08-21-2011 01:06 AM)tredlow Wrote: Uhh... No mention on the new Bat Man series? And how he's gonna go back to the original wooden baseball bat rather than the tacky, needlessly-gritty aluminum one? Castalight says no change to the current 8Ball at least before the 8Ball & Brother Palm: Prophets one-shot in Feb. The Hockey Huntress and the Penguin, Platypus, Pterodactyl! team are guesting in Fridgerator's Arctic Adventures #179-182 against Cold Humor and Fridgerator's evil twin, Frosty Freddie. She might turn up in Bat Man Team after that, though. Join the Petition Against Nails In Heads! Mister Stabby on Twitter |

I just re-read it recently and while it's not necessarily a great comic, I had to give it props for introducing characters like The StereoTypeRider and Gruff Puffin. Their spin-off series are some of my favorite books of all time. Especially the ones Brick Hollandaise wrote during his seven year hunger strike. OK, tell me I'm not the only one who saw the pilot episode for the TV adaptation of Gelantinous Flan. 1986, maybe? '87? It had a young Rip Stippler as Custardo, and Horton Throckbottom as the voice of the titular hero. The show was canceled midway through the airing of the pilot episode, so of course we never got to see GF fight the Flaming Flames or any of the other classic storylines. My younger self would have traded all of my action figures for a chance to see The Flan take on the Masters Of Actuarial Studies on the small screen! |

Look, if you put Dracu-Lass on the cover in her traditional (AND AWESOME) space-thong and CyberBlade Bra, but inside there's not one single exposed areola? That's a TRAVESTY, and sure as hell ain't MY Dracu-Lass. That Fishtein guy is a Hitler. Jeffries' stuff is good, but I prefer the 1980s "Weighty Steel"-style of that foreign guy--what was his name? Luciano Fettucine, I think? That guy could draw areolae. All went right to hell when Lee Robfeld took over the book and turned it into the Leather Purse Legion. Ugh. -E |

Which CC, Stanley Stevens or Argus Billiardsname? Because I thought Leonard Malik's run on Cap' Cuestick Tales is no longer canon, but the Stanley Stevens CC was murdered by the Drek Syndicate off-panel (I think it was mentioned by Flagella Jones in Lazarus Crisis #3 or are we just gonna forget that ever happened, again?). Anyway, I looked up his old stuff and found out that he actually drew the "Solar Savior Meets Chocobear" comic. Yeah, the guy who created The Witchlust Chronicles drew a cereal promo comic for kids. Still plenty of areolae in it, though, judging by the cover. This all seems really overwhelming. I kinda like Steampunk Stories From The Bible, but yeah, everything else was crap. Red Horn is overrated. |

RE: The Next Event Comic
I bought the Gelatinous Flan pilot on bootleg. It was so good I dubbed like 4 copies of it for people. Lucky for Rip Stippler, he went on to star in "Fleming, Irish PI." If only FBS had let it stay on the air for more than 2 glurking episodes!

It was a shame they only gave it two stinking episodes, but like you said Stippler did go on to do "Irish PI". Sure he might not be a super hero but regardless its nice that there was at least one TV series based off some sort of comic that year. Heck it was Stippler's performance as Fleming that revived the comic from the slump it was inn and kept it from getting canned itself. Now that would have been a shame cause the revival lead to some great crossover with more main stream comics. Well, they are, um... magical |

RE: The Next Event Comic
John Groznik announced that he is apparently drawing the new Tropical Murder long running series starting just before Eternity Squared. Interesting both since Groznik usually just writes and his whole lycanthropy religion thing caused problems at SNDF last year when those three kids disappeared.
Apparently Groznik got out of the charges though when when there was video of him sitting at a bar during the 4 hours they were missing. The disturbing part is Groznik apparently ordered or interacted with nobody in those hours and he is a notorious teetotaler. Personally though I don't care as long as they get a decent writer. I mean Craig Jetsky "murdered" TM last year when he killed off Phantom Whale. |

RE: The Next Event Comic
Really? You fell for that? Any true fan knows that ever since the spectral cetacean was irradiated with Priority Particles back in the Nostrum Covenant of 1971, he can never truly die, and just reappears further along in the timeline. I'll bet you my mint copy of Karma Khronicles #57, with the tryptofoil letters page, that Phantom's reappearance will be the keystone that resolves all this crap going on with Scubadude. Craig "Green Teeth" Jetsky is just in it for the money, and has no respect for continuity. Can you believe what he did to the Six Minstrels series? I mean come ON. Rudolph Stenfield was even worse. I expect a bit of decorum from these people!
