RE: The Next Event Comic

Is it too early to be cautiously optimistic for a new Galaxy Ranger series? It sure looks like the Ranger to me, too. But, beneath the mask, hard to say if it's Marc Tr1umph wearing the costume, or some as yet to be determined 21st century character donning the Silver Cowboy Hat, Tesseract Holsters, and Anti-Matter Revolvers (dare I hope for Eddie Masters, whose Chrono-Cop character has been deservedly forgotten?). As far as the original Ranger having a role in Eternity Squared, there may be battles being fought in different eras, or, there are any number of vilains that could be involved in a multi-epoch attack on the entire universe (either jumping around in time, or bringing characters from other time periods into the present for some reason): Professor Infinity, Past Master, Time Demon (though he would have to be drastically altered to be the mastermind in this scenario), or even Clock Puncher (though his powers would have to have been considerably enhanced for him to be a real threat, or he'd have to be working for one of the heavier hitters, like Dr. Element, the Pharaoh, or Emperor Solar). While I agree with you for the most part about Galaxy Ranger never quite living up to its potential (though Messenheim's SunWar series was pretty fun), I personally would love to see them bring at least some of the characters from the Virtue League into the present: imagine Commander Friendly or Growing Lady fighting alongside WarpWave or Sinew! |
