Congratulations!

I might pick that up when it is out. (Now that you're famous and shit, will we get your autograph for free, or will we have to wait in a huge line and pay 10 bucks? Will us forum people at least be able to cut in front?)

Curt, you seem like a pretty cool guy too.

Aw Curt, don't be upset, your ass looked amazing in The Variants episode.

And Chris, well done man, looking forward to your coming Slingers reboot.

RE: Chris Haley Congratulatory Thread
Damn! Apparently people are like, really angry about you being successful due to the project in general. Those people can go fuck themselves.

I'm a liberal/progressive/whateverthefuckyouwannacallit girl who goes to a liberal university, because is there any other kind of university in the greater Seattle area? (The answer is no.) But the county my university is in is largely conservative, as is the main coffee chain around here. The guy in charge of this coffee chain has been accused of censorship (certain local and liberal magazines aren't allowed), supporting conservative causes (including ant-gay causes, I believe) and candidates through a slush fund that has been accused of fraud, false advertising (apparently they say it's fair trade and it really isn't, or something), and other horrible things.

These are all terrible things that I am against. But I still go to this coffee shop a lot. For one, it's good coffee and I'm not about to give that up. (Yes, there are other, actual fair trade/organic coffee shops around here, but they're smaller and artsier and I always feel like a dick sitting there with my homework, taking up a table, while a group of friends or a nice hippy couple wait for a seat.) Secondly, there are three of these chain shops within walking distance of my house. One of these locations is in a nice park right on the water. Best. View. Ever.

Lastly, I like the people who work there. They are really some of the nicest people ever, and one of them is a fellow archy. I know the others because I can't concentrate at home, so I'm at this coffee shop quite a bit for reading and essays. We'll chat when it's slow and when we see each other on the street, and when I randomly saw one of the girls at Oktoberfest, we had a beer together. These people don't necessarily get to choose who they work for; as most of us know, the job market is a bitch, and most of the time you take what you can get. If I stopped supporting this chain, I'd also stop supporting my friends. I'm not willing to do that. /really long rant (sorry bout that) (also sorry if any of the above offends anyone here)

So congrats on succeeding in the shitty job market, Chris! I'll be sure to buy one if my funds at the time of its release allow it, because I like supporting cool people from the internet. Or I'll donate a smaller amount or something.

Out of curiosity, which is better for you guys, buying a published comic such as this, or making a direct donation on the main site?

Do both. I don't know what Boom's royalty setup is, but if Chris sees any profit from an individual comic, it's likely very small. That said, supporting artists' published work helps them get *more* paid gigs, so.

Also: Congrats, Chris!
