RE: Best Fictional Character Ever
Sakurai Yuuto, AKA Kamen Rider Zeronos. Here are the reasons:
1. In order to protect the future from being destroyed, he became a hero.

2. In order to use his power, he has to sacrifice the memories that other people have of him.

3. He travels through time, hunting monsters that prey on people's memories.

4. He has one of these monsters contracted to him. While this creature Deneb is based off the trickster spirits known as the Tengu, he is completely subservient to Yuuto.

5. He controls a time-traveling train that turns into a helicopter called the Zeroliner.

6. He has been erased from history three times, and always comes back.

7. Once he overcomes the angst of "Nobody remembers me," he becomes the greatest black ops agent nobody ever knows. He works his way up through evil organizations, learning everything he can about their operations, who pulls the strings and where the money goes. Once he learns this, he transforms into Zeronos, bringing down the organization, and leaving a large number of criminals in prison without any memory of how they got there.

8. The three forms of Zeronos are Altair, Vega, and Zero. While this is an astronomical thing, it also means he is cooler than a street fighter, more suave than an assassin and more awesome than a reploid.

9. He once saw dinosaurs, stagecoach robberies, the pyramids being built and fought ninjas, all in one day.

10. He fights with a sword that changes into bolt gun.

By this evidence, he is the best fictional character ever.

Go.

Not to be that guy, but it's God. Ala the whole Voltaire "If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent Him" thing.

1. The Infinite Vastness of the Universe is aware of little ol' you!

2. The Universe loves you!

3. Even better, The Universe hates all the same people you hate! Take that, other people!

4. You get to live forever! And not just plain old living forever, but you get to live forever in a state of consummate perfection.

5. But not those other people. Boy are they going to be sorry! Haha!

6. There are lots and lots of job opportunities within God fandom.

Now that's some wish fulfillment!

Also, so many possible opportunities for shippers. God loves everyone equally, but some are more equal than others.

Yeah, but does his sword turn into a bolt gun?

Who needs a bold gun when you can turn people into salt, and are literally omnipotent?
Buuuuuut... if he's omnipotent, who's to say he does not, indeed have a bolt gun? and no, he cannot make one so large he cannot fire it. For the same reason absolute zero cannot be surpassed, because God is a Sith. He deals in absolutes.
...
Oh my god.

I think I'm a maltheist now.

Well that is only canon with the All Star Yahweh. I personally like some of his smaller adventures and the fan poetry they wrote about him.

Changeling and Socialfist. Check those out.

RE: Best Fictional Character Ever
In all seriousness as far as comics go I believe that Booster Gold might be the best superhero.

1. He is a character who is very human and yet is a heroic figure. His entire reason for going back in time is initially for his own personal gain but deep down that desire to gain financially is so he can redeem himself.

2. He is a character who doesn't subscribe to as many of the classic tropes. We get a lot of second rate Supes and Spideys and even Shazzes but Booster is a character whose origin can be difficult to create an ersatz version of without going into direct parody.

3. He has a song about him that is not only good but it is actually a pop-song that could chart. While there are other songs about superheroes or even just mentioning them, Booster Gold (the song) hearkens back to the pop story songs like You Don't Mess Around With Slim.

4. He is able to rock sunglasses. For most superheroes it is difficult and Booster does it well.

5. Skeets. A good character needs an equally strong supporting cast and Skeets who starts off as a simple conscience evolves into a deeper character.

6. He is his own story. Booster has been part of his own creation since the beginning and despite numerous authors and creators he has stayed the same character and his timeline actually makes sense.

That said I don't read that much Booster Gold but I love him as a character idea more than any published character (except Moon Knight who is just Batman + crazy + magic).

Changeling and Socialfist. Check those out.

RE: Best Fictional Character Ever
Actually, the Moon Knight equation is more like Batman(Magic/Crazy)+ ANCIENT EGYPT - Friends.
