There would be no Star Wars, no Flash Gordon, no Avatar or whatever else without John Carter. This is the Ur-artifact and the real deal. Plus, Andrew Stanton is the man. Mark my words: this movie is going to rule very hard. oh, that studio stuff makes a lot of... not sense but I get why they did it. I don't really follow movies, because my parents prefer the whole family go to see a movie together, so I miss the theater runs of most movies. Plus, I don't really like previews. But all this stuff looks really neat. Mortal men know me as the Overthinker and all that whatnot. |

RE: John Carter
I second Dylan. This movie was pretty awesome. I haven't really seen any of the marketing for it, so I went in completely cold, other than having confidence in Stanton, Andrews and Chabon being able to pull it off. I think if I saw this at the age I was when Star Wars came out, this would totally take its place.

RE: John Carter
They tend to only run movies for a week at a time a the theater around the corner from me, and I am insanely swamped this week, so I hope I don't miss it where I get free popcorn, cause that is a big $8 off my movie going experience. I'm going as soon as I have a moment to breath out, but I'm praying for free popcorn. And murder gorillas.

RE: John Carter
The one near me only has three showings for the non-3D version for today. Can't make any of them, so I guess I'll try to make it on Friday. Not paying extra for the 3D because 1. Too expensive, 2. 3D glasses feel awkward over real glasses 3. The 3D probably doesn't make a difference anyway.

That was pretty boss. I did chortle a few times at some of the one liners, but all in all I'd give it two murder gorillas face down in a pool of their own murderous blood. Which is to say go see this film.
