I was maybe 7 years old. There was a huge cardboard standout with the first issues of all of the Heroes Reborn books at the comic shop my mom would take me to sometimes. I vaguely recognized these characters from an issue of X-Men that I had and knew that they were other Marvel characters. All of the new number ones seemed like the perfect place to start reading. that Cap cover spoke to me. The dynamic figure against a stark white cover was the coolest thing I had ever seen in my entire life. I almost wore that issue out flipping through it, not necessarily reading it, but just taking it all in. That issue primed me for Cap, and his appearance on the Spider-Man cartoon cemented his place in my childhood top tier.
