Funnily enough, I can imagine liking it if they had just changed about, three character's names. I do however, tend to like notoriously bad movies (which is why I had agreed to watch it in the first place!)

From having only seen the movie I just wasn't interested in the comic. After I read the comic, I think that movie should have just not been associated with the comics. As a Keanu Reeves goes to hell movie, its fine. But it is not a Hellblazer movie.

Check out my podcast, Bat Issues. It's like Tom vs, but about Batman.

AoA was my first major crossover in comics, I reread them all in a day about once a year and I always enjoy it despite how clunky it can be.

For such a major event with so many involved, the continuity hangs together amazing well. And honestly, nostalgia washes over a lot of the bad bits for me.

Ten year Anniversary AoA, though? Whoever put that together can go get fisted by a dude wearing a sandpaper glove. That shit was whack.

Right I'm reading my way through Comico's awesome Jonny Quest series which i got the run of at a LCS sale. Jonny Quest could kick your ass.

I'm reading most of the Wolfman/Perez New Teen Titans issues for the first time and re-reading the ones I already had. The ones I hadn't read aren't as good as I hoped, and the ones I already knew (Trigon Saga, Judas Contract) are even better than I remember. I'm gonna follow it up with the Wolfman/Grummett run, which I remember liking as a kid.

Also, that giant book with all of Calvin & Hobbes!

I'm re-reading Joe Casey and Tom Scioli's Gødland which, though a little dated now, is still crackling with energy from page 1.

I read it in singles originally, but between the delays and my tendency to not re-read stuff that often, it's almost like reading it for the first time.

Planetary is one of the best comics series of all time. OF ALL TIME.

And that old adage that became a cop-out is true: it reads better in the trade. I recently bought all four books and tore through them and dude, so good.

I was doing some cleaning the other week and I found a big stack of these in a box of comics from a garage sale. They're fantastic. And for the record, the 90s Johnny Quest show did not hold up AT ALL, but some not horrible comics came out of it.

Totally agreed. One of the few series I've re-read in full multiple times. It warped my brain the first time I picked it up and still does to this day.

Also reading Hellblazer for the first time! Seriously, how is Keanu's Constantine even connected to the comics character?

And re-reading JLA and Superman/Batman, and some Green Lantern vol. 3 and Flash vol. 2. Basically, I'm smothering myself in the '90s, hoping against hope that the past five or so years will have never happened...

I hadn't realised it was a movie adaptation of Hellblazer until my friend started describing the plot and I realised how familiar it sounded. The thought of Keanu Reeves playing him was too absurd for me to make the connection. I spent most of it muttering to myself "Shea LaBoeuf is playing Chas..."

I recently found out Garth Ennis was from Northern Ireland (which is where I'm from) because apparently I live under a rock and so based almost entirely on that, I'm reading Preacher for the first time. I can't believe I've gone so long without reading it. It's the perfect combination of ass-kicking and insanity

If it's any thing his time on Hellblazer I'll have to check it out.

Oh man, that is a thing I'd love to read. I think I've got the first issue somewhere, but I have no idea where.
