It all falls apart around issue 25 or 26, though, which kinda stinks. I'm on issue 27 right now I think. Whichever is Lobdell's last issue. And yeah, I've heard that the quality drops pretty quickly once he leaves. Mostly I'll be slagging through it to get to the Ellis/Wood stuff at the end. |

I got a grab bag of comics as a gift not too long ago, and some of the things that I have had in the bathroom reading material stack as of late that I've thoroughly enjoyed and want to get more of is:
Bendis/Malev Daredevil old The Spirit single issues Tom Strong |

They both hold up really well, even though I remember hating them at the time. I saw a lot of Demo and the New York Four in Gen X. Both Ellis' and Wood's respective runs on DV8 are really good as well. |

RE: Comics you're revisiting/catching up with
I decided a little while back to go through all of Morrison's DC stuff in chronological order, because I was mad that I couldn't truly appreciate things like Knight and Squire in Batman having not read JLA. I loved Animal Man and am halfway through Doom Patrol atm, and thoroughly enjoying it.
I went to my local library last week and grabbed basically everything that stood out, most of which was series that I've always meant to pick up but never got around to buying, and an X-Men Pixie book. So I've got: Saga of the Swamp Thing: Book One by Alan Moore Akira Vol. 1 by Katsuhiro Otomo Arkham Asylum: A Serious House On Serious Earth by Morrison/McKean Batwoman: Elegy by Rucka/Williams Batgirl Rising by Miller/Garbett/Scott sitting here waiting to be read. Note: I know Akrham Asylum comes before Animal Man and Doom Patrol but I dislike McKean's art so much that I didn't even want to spend money on it. I just cannot see the appeal at all. Bleh.) And as far as recent series I've been reading in trades, I'm going through Brubaker's Captain America, Hickman's Secret Warriors and Hickman's Image stuff (The Nightly News, Pax Romana come the demon Etrigan). I've been really busy. tumblr twitter covergallery |

I just finished reading Ex Machina. And hum, wow, just wow.
Simply put: I could not have predicted anything resembling what I saw. It is just perplexing from both plot and just pure storytelling perspective. I think I'll have to re-read the entire series to wrap my head around it. |

Finished up Blue Beetle.
Now to tackle Cosmic Marvel. Oy vey... I can't help it if I've got a heavy flow and a wide set vagina! I'm now on the Tweety! I'm also tumbling! |

I'd suggest just bailing out of reading any of the Hama stuff. Jay Faeber's run wasn't all that bad. There's a bunch of stuff I want to catch that I missed the first time around: Major Bummer Young Heroes in Love Resurrection Man Chase John Francis Moore's run on X-Force (if only for Adam Pollina and Jimmy Cheung's art). RE: Comics you're revisiting/catching up with
Finally read Hellboy Strange Places trade. It's a little more low key compared to the other more action packed HB stories, but I dug it a lot. Lot of hilarious one-liners in the face of certain death. Mignola is such a master and you can see how he's simplified drawing HB for himself over the years.

RE: Comics you're revisiting/catching up with
Have been hearing really good thing about Greg Pak's Hulk run (loved Incredible Hercules and am also loving Jeff Parker's current Hulk series), so I'm re-reading Planet Hulk this weekend and going to work through World War Hulk over the next week. I've read both before, but figured I'd give myself a refresher before diving in.
