I haven't got through enough of it to be at the recommending stage, but I'm enjoying it a lot more than is sensible! The other day I was reading it on the bus and a random guy said to me, "Ooh, Preacher! That's the fuckin shit!" which I suppose is a good thing! |

RE: Comics you're revisiting/catching up with
I liked Constantine.
I think people pick on that movie for the wrong reasons, because (while it probably shouldn't have had anything to do with "Hellblazer") it really was a pretty well made flick. Take the Hellblazer connection out of the equation and there's almost nothing to dislike in that movie. Unless you just hate Keanu for some reason, which I guess is a thing people do. I've been reading Hitman for the first time slowly over the last few months. While it's been so good that I'd have liked to have read it all in a week, I've purposely been pacing myself to appreciate the tension Ennis built. I just finished up Hellboy: Darkness Calls and started on The Wild Hunt. There's really no such thing as a bad Hellboy comic, but man, these are pretty awesome. Sadly, I've already had the ending of The Fury ruined for me, so thanks a lot, internet.

HELLBOY IS ACTUALLY HITLER!
Wait that's not the spoiler. That's not even true. Check out my podcast, Bat Issues. It's like Tom vs, but about Batman. |

Just do what I did (at the behest of many) and start with Darkness Calls. |

RE: Comics you're revisiting/catching up with
Right now I'm making my way through Booster Gold and hating Dan Jurgens' art and dialog, but loving the series. I've also been reading Generation X for the first time, which is surprising me by how awesome it still is in 2011.
My list of stuff to catch up on is crazy, but it includes: Morrison's Animal Man and Doom Patrol Milligan's X-Force and X-Statix Simonson's Thor Brubaker's Daredevil Giffen & DeMatteis' Justice League Byrne's She Hulk and Fantastic Four and pretty much everything Jack Kirby did after leaving Marvel in the early 70s. |

Oh man, the Bachalo/Lobdell issues of Gen X are GOLD, and almost no one knows it. It's sad. It all falls apart around issue 25 or 26, though, which kinda stinks.
