RE: Now Enjoying.
I've been playing LEGO Batman 2 and I'm very disappointed. It's...lackluster. The flying controls in free-roam are atrocious, the roster is far too small, the amount of levels is laughable, there's no villain story like the first one. Honestly, if I wasn't able to run around as Aquaman and that the Superman themesong plays every time you fly, I would rate this game pretty low. I'm very disappointed because I thought this game was going to be the best LEGO game to date.

Oh, and finding characters to unlock is going to be a pain in the ass, unless there's a character detector red brick.

So unless they make the next DC game a LEGO Justice League instead of Batman 3, I have no more hope left for this particular line. And honestly, after LEGO Lord of the Rings comes out this year and LEGO City for the WiiU (Both of which I'm excited for, even though I don't much care for Lord of the Rings), I can't think of any more games they can release. Another LEGO Star Wars would be overkill, and I don't believe they can legally make a LEGO Marvel game since TT is owned by WB, who in turn owns DC.

I can't help it if I've got a heavy flow and a wide set vagina!
I'm now on the Tweety!
I'm also tumbling!

RE: Now Enjoying.
I got an iPod Touch for Father's Day and have been glutting on digital comics. Read the first Locke & Key collection, which was really great, a couple volumes of Atomic Robo -- also great -- the first couple of issues of Dial H, which were just okay, and the first issue of Zander & Kevin Cannon's Double Barrel, which is FANTASTIC.

Double Barrel is $2 for 122 pages of comics and tips from the Cannons (no relation). It's half Zander's Heck (which is about a guy who discovers a portal to Hell in his recently-deceased father's basement and sets up a business where he delivers messages to the dead -- for a fee.) and half of Kevin's Army Shanks tale, Crater XV, the sequel to the incredible Far Arden. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PICKING THIS UP. You will not be disappointed.

Oh, and Eagleheart's been so gloriously weird this season.

Also, Moonrise Kingdom is amazing, surprising no one.

"This game sucks, let's do something else" might be my new favorite set of magic words.

And I can't decide which I like better, Comedy Bang! Bang! or Bunk.

As an actual human being and an actual hero I fully support and endorse these things. Especially Double Barrel.

RE: Now Enjoying.
loving, of all things, comixology on my new phone. I've disliked the service a LOT in the past, but now that digital is the only way I can get comics I'm finding ways to like it.

Ame-Comi Batgirl helps with that, of course. Sanford Greene's art seems to work a lot better in DC's digital format than Conner's did on Wonder Woman, though eye-strain is still the name of the game with some text boxes (guided view doesn't seem well thought out for phones the size of mine).

Co-sign on Double Barrel. It's a darn good book and a great value. I went ahead and picked up Far Arden as soon as I was done and that's really good (and around 400 pages for $4.99).

Finally caught up with John Carter this weekend and it was fine, but not the second coming of Speed Racer or anything. Definitely worth a rental.

Finally got around to rewatching Aliens and I take for granted how good of a movie that it. Also, the blu-ray is lovely.

RE: Now Enjoying.
Friend lent me the first chunk of Gillen's run on Journey Into Mystery (my collection starts at the Exiled crossover).

Damn, but that is a good comic book. AvX can bite me.

The current Manchester Gods storyline is so awesome. Modern Industrial City gods is one of the best concepts I've read in a comic in a very long time. I will read anything and everything Gillen writes.
