Now, I haven't read all the Flashpoint series, but I did read Deathstroke, Batman, Green Arrow, and Project Superman, so here are a few opinions on things that were cool ideas:
I think Flashpoint Green Arrow was pretty cool. As a one shot it was a pretty complete story and the concept (that of Green Arrow as a super-corporation that Megaman'd villains by defeating them and steal theire tech) was pretty cool. While different from the classic image of Green Arrow was certainly more interesting than the relaunched version.
Cyborg. Cyborg as America's greatest hero was quite the cool concept. Admittedly the execution might not have been great, but it was neat idea, even if they were transparently setting up Cyborg as the new token black guy on the JLA.
The Outsider was a cool idea dammit. Indian Lex Luthor with superpowers? That's awesome. And the Martian Manhunter as a sort of reverse John Carter of Mars? Also awesome.
Citizen Cold was neat too, if only because it was a cool to see a character who is normally a somewhat low level supervillain as a beloved superhero.
Deathstroke as a pirate was a fun idea and the execution was actually pretty decent, even if they did end with Slade hooking with a woman about a week older than his own daughter. But up until that there were some pretty neat concepts on the go with the superhuman trafficking and the Warlord character (remember him? with his manties and ludicrous helmet/beard combo?) as a pirate king.
Deadman and the Flying Grayson.... had some pretty nice covers. Yeah, that series kind of sucked.
Atlantis versus the Amazons was a good idea, it kind of makes me wonder if the two have ever gone to war before because it feels like such and obvious idea in retrospect.
And Flashpoint Batman was perhaps the one good miniseries to emerge from that whole debacle.

I bring that up because right now, I'm in the thick of making appointments for e3, and one company that's been bugging me almost daily to stop by and have a talk is Little Orbit - makers of the new Young Justice game.
Now, I'm a "Make Mine Marvel" kinda guy, so I've already made my appointment with Gazillion to talk about the Marvel Heroes game, but I'm trying to gauge interest in Young Justice before I commit an hour to talking to them about it.

I know you guys are fans of the show, but are you guys interested in a downloadable YJ game? If I interviewed the guys putting it out, would you guys be interested in reading/listening to that? Sometimes quieter stuff like God Is an Astronaut or Red Sparowes or Ascent of Everest or Kinsky--but less for work, where part of what I'm after is straight-up momentum.

Stuff I can't really listen to at work but like a lot:
Protomen, TMBG, Poe, a whole lot of hip-hop, Nick Cave, Blackguard, Kirby Krackle, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, anything lyrically intricate, genrefuck, genrefusion, angry 90s rock, Rage Against the Machine, the Nields, the Decemberists, queercore, post-punk, nerdy stuff, Robert Earl Keen, Amanda Palmer, Hedwig & the Angry Inch.

Stuff I rarely listen to of my own volition:
Nu-Metal. Most things that could reasonably be described as "twinkly" or "soft."

Thanks to the villains not really being aware of the two sides, they discovered that if they can get a single member in through the Death Tower to the top floor that is also five buildings across that can only be entered in through the first tower, they can distract the guards long enough for one person to touch the artifact, everything can go back to normal. If they fail, they lose everything forever!

The members of the teams are
Yapper, the hard to kill and insane assassin who has no skills to really speak of except the whole hard to kill thing.
Count Deathington - cursed by the Tooth Fairy for trying to have sex with her, Count Deathington cannot die - if he does he simply regenerates - but her grows a tooth somewhere on his body.
Titceratops - half dinosaur and half vampire, the prehistoric powerhouse is hard to slow down. Unless you kill her.
Chubby Candy - she can change her size by turning into candy and turning back into a normal person - but watch out for her blood sugar!
Bimensional - he can slip through any flat opening but this can also include reality and our realms of perception. Oh the things that he has seen.
Hateway - released straight out of hell for just being a generally unpleasant fellow, he can open portals to and from hell for limited periods of time.
Arrown - she has a bunch of arrows that she is really good at throwing because carrying around a bow is stupid.
Ostrichie - a former socialite who got drunk and joined the team, she comes with 5 million dollars to spend.
Madame De Porpoise - possibly the most powerful entity in the universe, she can call up her porpoise friends from the ocean.
Masstor - he really isn't supposed to be here but he can create finite black holes.
Biscuit Beast - an alien who landed in England and loves biscuits. His crippling addition is the only thing that kept him from joining the Honesty Force.
Hydrozone - the princess of Atlanta who took her title too seriously and then drowned the town. Now she has the ability to attack with water animated corpses.
Holladabra - the wizard who is supposed to speak spells in haikus but she failed poetry class!
Masterpull - he can stretch infinitely but it turns him on which is gross so he doesn't really do it that much.
VengeEtte - the only canon female disciple of VenGent
Faerrum - a cyborg created through faerie magic.
X-kode - he has funky fresh beats and is able to use sonic powerz
Illoser - she can make illusions but only ones that are really offensive!
Beastette - she can transform into a part of an animal, but only one part.

But here is the catch - you can only use 4 at a time, you can't add new members if a team member dies - oh and you suggest the actions as a group!

So vote/discuss the initial team of 4 people you will use to walk into the building in the first place.]]>

There can only be one winner but each secret master may have more than one person working for them! Lines will be crossed! Betrayals will be unsurprising! This is ARCANE SKIRMISH!

The rules!

Character
Each character has Defense, Attack and Health points. The Defense points apply mostly to defending. Attack points mostly apply to attacking. Health points are how much health your character has. If you scharacter runs out of health points, they are dead. The D,A,H are kept secret for each player until you control them.

Teams
Each player will control 3-5 Characters that will be secret to them. You will pick one to be the leader. The rest are minions. You also get to pick your team name! You can then assign your team member to Missions, Attacks, Defenses or Powers.

Leaders
When your leader dies, your minions die too. You get to select your leader from your minions though. You may not want your strongest player to lead as it might make him or her more of a target. Depending on the character that you choose to be your leader, you and your minions get buffs (that will be revealed after picking the leader).

Minions
The minions are your soldiers. Use them as you will for Missions, Attacks, Defenses or Powers.

Bases
Each team has a base! Any characters that aren't being used act as defenders. See defense and attack.Each base also has 10 hit points! If the base is destroyed, all characters that the player owns are revealed along with who the leader is (meaning the leader will be a big target).

Societies
Each character is also attached to a society which is down in the Societies and Characters section. By being active in society missions, your characters pick up rewards. You can turn down society missions.

Rounds!
After the results of the last round were posted, missions will be posted!
Each player then can divide up their team as needed into missions, defenders, attackers and powers.
Send power uses, attack force, defense force and mission rosters to me.
NOTE: If you don't submit actions, all of your characters will defend automatically.

Missions!
Missions will be posted for each Society with the update.
Not every Society will have a daily mission.
You can select which characters that you control within a Society will go on a mission. From there it will work like normal attacking vs defending.
Mission rewards can include healing, powerups and additional characters.
Missions can also result in death, especially if there are not enough people in a mission.
You can be asked to attack your own base - review the options before choosing.

Attacking and Defending (Bases)!
Declare who you are attacking publicly.
Declare who you are attacking with privately to me!
Average the defense points of each defender and the attack points of each attacker rounding down in both cases.
If the average of defense points is less than that of attack points, the attackers win.
Each defender loses one health point. The average of the attack is also dealt to the base.
If the average of defense points is greater than that of attack points, the attackers win.
Each attacker loses one health point.
Attackers and defenders cannot use their powers if they are attacking or defending unless the rules say otherwise.
If attack and defense are equal, both sides return undamaged.

Attacking A Specific Person!
If the specific person leaves on a mission, then that attack fails.
If the specific person is at the base, the players must go through the defense (if any) first.
If the specific person is part of the defense, then only one point of damage can be dealt.
If the specific person is using a power, full damage is dealt.

Powers!
If you choose to use powers you can't go on missions, attack or defend. You use the power as mentioned.

Winning And Losing!

Winning!
Be the last team to survive or have the most of the last 8 players. Those members will then make up the next round of Supervillain (along with other people)

Losing!
If your team leader dies you lose!


Societies and Characters
M.A.F.I.A. - the ancient group of evil lead for so long that the true meaning of the acronym is forgotten. Guided by the hands of the Elder Gods it stands as a testament to the fact that screwing over people can be more profitable than helping them.

Replaco the Replicator - an alien from outer space who possesses the ability to change his face. If his is attacked privately, he can avoid the attack once per day.

Ska'zeebop J'llopop the Elder God - he isn't technically an elder god but he puts that on so he gets discounted meals. He can prevent one character from using their power (publicly) once per day.

T.U.D.E. the Sentient Computer - Formerly G.R.A.T.I.T.U.D.E. the Honesty Force computer until it was corrupted by evil! Now using it's server search engine it can find out who controls 1 character (publicly) once per day for 1 damage.

Duooooom the Janusian Terror - If Duooooom is targeted with a secret effect, the attack randomly and publicly hits another character.

Masher the Muscles - Masher was a wrecking crane until the blue fairy, slightly tipsy, turned him into a real boy who can turn into a sentient wrecking ball. Masher can privately attack a player once per day.

The Honesty Force - the big old Earth-y team of goodness who lost a lot of members and their headquarters to the M.A.F.I.A.

Royale the Big Quarter Pounder - Royale was granted powers from the spirits of New York City! R for Rockefeller! O for the Ocean. Y for Yancy! A for Albany (the capital of the state)! L for… Leprechauns and E for England - Fuck them! Granted knowledge from Yancy, god of New York, Royale may use his power once daily to out who controls 1 character (publicly).

ReVengeGents the Shadow - The double orphan! He make disable one hero (publicly) to prevent them from using their powers!

Brain Thinker! The Brain!!! Who Also Thinks!!! - A brain in a jar in a brain in an even bigger brain in one really big jar that also has spider legs! Brain Thinker! is able to swap ownership of two characters once per day! (He cannot see the results which are kept private)

Repairadon the Cyborgasaur - A cyborg dinosaur who is composed of Neolithic super-nanites. One per day he can (publicly) heal another character for 1 HP.

Psychologist Pirate the Lady Dentist - She went to dental school to avoid following the path of her name. Somehow she has the ability to instantly kill 1 character! If this is not used by the time she dies, one viable random character is brought back to life!

Tricheesominos - a top secret group that controls all the religion, money and pornography in the world and they don't play for anybody - except themselves!

M.O.N.A., Robot Of The Future - She was a vending machine from the year 3000 until Tricheesominos brought her back so they could continue controlling the world's cash! Once per day she can (publicly) prevent an attack on another player for 1 daamge!

Papyrussia, the Soviet Mummy - a mummy implanted with the souls of the greatest leaders from the Soviet Union by Tricheesominos! Papyrussia has the ability to curse a player once per day creating a random effect!

Captain Deathwish - He was the leader of A-team of 7 secret suicidal soldiers until a gypsy cursed him with immortality. Captain Deathwish is unable to be killed by typical measures...

Anubis, Except He Is Mortal - Anubis the Egyptian god now walks on Earth after being offered a whole bunch of weed by Tricheesominos! Anubis holds the power attack one character (publicly) because he is a dick.

Crumblebum the Elf With A Past - He was next in line to be Santa until he slept with Mrs. Claus. Now kicked off the force he is the tech manufacturer for Tricheesominos! He is able to grant 1 DP once per day permanently.

Shambala Kingdom - a kingdom from outer space in the O.S. Strali Nebula! They serve Golden Biztek and probably have cool adventures too.

Cerberus Nocturne - The Knight of the Triple Hound. His sword which is from space can attack once per day (publicly).

Golden Biztek - The Reigning Leader of Shambala. Using her robotic powers she can prevent one character from activating their powers (publicly) ever day!

Minute Care - The Time Twister! Using it's wierding powers, Minute Care can heal 1 character for 1 HP (publicly) every day.

Mama Eli, the Forewarner - She told you not to come - because she can see the future! You can't hit Mama so any attack or effect that hits her randomly hits another character instead (publicly).

Jeremiah Jugarum the Winemaker - The mad priest with the finest wine. He is a friend to all and allows his team to step past the strongest defense (publicly).

The Cell - The Cell got their name because they were too extreme for prisons! They all wear torn shirts and have tons of pouches and their aren't their daddies super heroes!

Devourer - The most radical mouth ever on a badass chick who wears skimpy clothes! It can attack once per day (publicly) for 1 damage.

Mainbrace - He is so extreme that he rides 5 quantum skateboards at one! With his support he can kickflip once per day (publicly) healing on of his teammates for 1 HP.

Lugger - Lugger used to be a cute and cuddly animal - until he was infected with metal trapsis! Now Lugger just wants to kill and he will - Lugger has the ability to instantly kill one character per day (publicly) - but chances are greater that it will be someone on his team!

Fingerling - He isn't small potatoes! He is the coolest pizza! Fingerling has the gnarly ability to reveal who who owns a character once per day (publicly)!

Cassimere - She is the girl who the couldn't xtreme-ize so she sits in a wheelchair! Using her nerd skills she can prevent a character from using their powers once per day (publicly)!

Everything else will be explained as needed.

Each player will control 3-5 Characters that will be secret to them. You will pick one to be the leader. The rest are minions. You also get to pick your team name! You can then assign your team member to Missions, Attacks, Defenses or Powers.

Leaders
When your leader dies, your minions die too. You get to select your leader from your minions though. You may not want your strongest player to lead as it might make him or her more of a target. Depending on the character that you choose to be your leader, you and your minions get buffs (that will be revealed after picking the leader).

Minions
The minions are your soldiers. Use them as you will for Missions, Attacks, Defenses or Powers.

Bases
Each team has a base! Any characters that aren't being used act as defenders. See defense and attack.Each base also has 10 hit points! If the base is destroyed, all characters that the player owns are revealed along with who the leader is (meaning the leader will be a big target).

Societies
Each character is also attached to a society which is down in the Societies and Characters section. By being active in society missions, your characters pick up rewards. You can turn down society missions.

Rounds!
After the results of the last round were posted, missions will be posted!
Each player then can divide up their team as needed into missions, defenders, attackers and powers.
Send power uses, attack force, defense force and mission rosters to me.
NOTE: If you don't submit actions, all of your characters will defend automatically.

Missions!
Missions will be posted for each Society with the update.
Not every Society will have a daily mission.
You can select which characters that you control within a Society will go on a mission. From there it will work like normal attacking vs defending.
Mission rewards can include healing, powerups and additional characters.
Missions can also result in death, especially if there are not enough people in a mission.
You can be asked to attack your own base - review the options before choosing.

Attacking and Defending (Bases)!
Declare who you are attacking publicly.
Declare who you are attacking with privately to me!
Average the defense points of each defender and the attack points of each attacker rounding down in both cases.
If the average of defense points is less than that of attack points, the attackers win.
Each defender loses one health point. The average of the attack is also dealt to the base.
If the average of defense points is greater than that of attack points, the attackers win.
Each attacker loses one health point.
Attackers and defenders cannot use their powers if they are attacking or defending unless the rules say otherwise.
If attack and defense are equal, both sides return undamaged.

Attacking A Specific Person!
If the specific person leaves on a mission, then that attack fails.
If the specific person is at the base, the players must go through the defense (if any) first.
If the specific person is part of the defense, then only one point of damage can be dealt.
If the specific person is using a power, full damage is dealt.

Powers!
If you choose to use powers you can't go on missions, attack or defend. You use the power as mentioned.

Winning And Losing!

Winning!
Be the last team to survive or have the most of the last 8 players. Those members will then make up the next round of Supervillain (along with other people)

Losing!
If your team leader dies you lose!


Societies and Characters
M.A.F.I.A. - the ancient group of evil lead for so long that the true meaning of the acronym is forgotten. Guided by the hands of the Elder Gods it stands as a testament to the fact that screwing over people can be more profitable than helping them.

Replaco the Replicator - an alien from outer space who possesses the ability to change his face. If his is attacked privately, he can avoid the attack once per day.

Ska'zeebop J'llopop the Elder God - he isn't technically an elder god but he puts that on so he gets discounted meals. He can prevent one character from using their power (publicly) once per day.

T.U.D.E. the Sentient Computer - Formerly G.R.A.T.I.T.U.D.E. the Honesty Force computer until it was corrupted by evil! Now using it's server search engine it can find out who controls 1 character (publicly) once per day for 1 damage.

Duooooom the Janusian Terror - If Duooooom is targeted with a secret effect, the attack randomly and publicly hits another character.

Masher the Muscles - Masher was a wrecking crane until the blue fairy, slightly tipsy, turned him into a real boy who can turn into a sentient wrecking ball. Masher can privately attack a player once per day.

The Honesty Force - the big old Earth-y team of goodness who lost a lot of members and their headquarters to the M.A.F.I.A.

Royale the Big Quarter Pounder - Royale was granted powers from the spirits of New York City! R for Rockefeller! O for the Ocean. Y for Yancy! A for Albany (the capital of the state)! L for… Leprechauns and E for England - Fuck them! Granted knowledge from Yancy, god of New York, Royale may use his power once daily to out who controls 1 character (publicly).

ReVengeGents the Shadow - The double orphan! He make disable one hero (publicly) to prevent them from using their powers!

Brain Thinker! The Brain!!! Who Also Thinks!!! - A brain in a jar in a brain in an even bigger brain in one really big jar that also has spider legs! Brain Thinker! is able to swap ownership of two characters once per day! (He cannot see the results which are kept private)

Repairadon the Cyborgasaur - A cyborg dinosaur who is composed of Neolithic super-nanites. One per day he can (publicly) heal another character for 1 HP.

Psychologist Pirate the Lady Dentist - She went to dental school to avoid following the path of her name. Somehow she has the ability to instantly kill 1 character! If this is not used by the time she dies, one viable random character is brought back to life!

Tricheesominos - a top secret group that controls all the religion, money and pornography in the world and they don't play for anybody - except themselves!

M.O.N.A., Robot Of The Future - She was a vending machine from the year 3000 until Tricheesominos brought her back so they could continue controlling the world's cash! Once per day she can (publicly) prevent an attack on another player for 1 daamge!

Papyrussia, the Soviet Mummy - a mummy implanted with the souls of the greatest leaders from the Soviet Union by Tricheesominos! Papyrussia has the ability to curse a player once per day creating a random effect!

Captain Deathwish - He was the leader of A-team of 7 secret suicidal soldiers until a gypsy cursed him with immortality. Captain Deathwish is unable to be killed by typical measures...

Anubis, Except He Is Mortal - Anubis the Egyptian god now walks on Earth after being offered a whole bunch of weed by Tricheesominos! Anubis holds the power attack one character (publicly) because he is a dick.

Crumblebum the Elf With A Past - He was next in line to be Santa until he slept with Mrs. Claus. Now kicked off the force he is the tech manufacturer for Tricheesominos! He is able to grant 1 DP once per day permanently.

Shambala Kingdom - a kingdom from outer space in the O.S. Strali Nebula! They serve Golden Biztek and probably have cool adventures too.

Cerberus Nocturne - The Knight of the Triple Hound. His sword which is from space can attack once per day (publicly).

Golden Biztek - The Reigning Leader of Shambala. Using her robotic powers she can prevent one character from activating their powers (publicly) ever day!

Minute Care - The Time Twister! Using it's wierding powers, Minute Care can heal 1 character for 1 HP (publicly) every day.

Mama Eli, the Forewarner - She told you not to come - because she can see the future! You can't hit Mama so any attack or effect that hits her randomly hits another character instead (publicly).

Jeremiah Jugarum the Winemaker - The mad priest with the finest wine. He is a friend to all and allows his team to step past the strongest defense (publicly).

The Cell - The Cell got their name because they were too extreme for prisons! They all wear torn shirts and have tons of pouches and their aren't their daddies super heroes!

Devourer - The most radical mouth ever on a badass chick who wears skimpy clothes! It can attack once per day (publicly) for 1 damage.

Mainbrace - He is so extreme that he rides 5 quantum skateboards at one! With his support he can kickflip once per day (publicly) healing on of his teammates for 1 HP.

Lugger - Lugger used to be a cute and cuddly animal - until he was infected with metal trapsis! Now Lugger just wants to kill and he will - Lugger has the ability to instantly kill one character per day (publicly) - but chances are greater that it will be someone on his team!

Fingerling - He isn't small potatoes! He is the coolest pizza! Fingerling has the gnarly ability to reveal who who owns a character once per day (publicly)!

Cassimere - She is the girl who the couldn't xtreme-ize so she sits in a wheelchair! Using her nerd skills she can prevent a character from using their powers once per day (publicly)!

Mafia, if you've never heard of it (also called Werewolf or Murder) is a party game. In the basic mode there are three kinds of players - The Mafia, the Villagers and the Narrator.
The Narrator is the impartial party in the game who counts votes and assigns positions. He also narrates deaths.

The Mafia is the enemy of the villagers who attempts to kill off all of the Villagers without being caught. Each night he may kill one person anonymously.

The Villagers and The Mafia vote each day on who they think the killer is and then the person with the most votes is killed.

Winning Conditions:
If all of the Mafia members die, the Villagers win.
If there is only one Villager left and Mafia players, the Mafia wins.

The voting death takes place before the Mafia's private killing.

Last time - After being stranded on the Honesty Force's satellite, the evil villain Replaco the Replicator was able to kill off all of the Honesty Force members, their guests and was then able to capture their information from the computer allowing him to know everything able the members of the Honesty Force.

Aware of this fact and his treachery, the remaining member of the Honesty Force have banded together to stop him leaving their superhero personas behind so they can blend in like everybody else. Aware of this, Replaco has also enlisted a few extra members to mix things up in the game.

I need some help with suggestions for quality trades/collections that kids in that age range will enjoy and with nothing that could possibly get her in trouble with parents/the school.
